Lacke in Farbe und bunt - Rosa

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is pink.

My pink polish is Catrice Vienna Rose Woods (VIENNArt Limited Edition), a dusky medium dark pink with vivid shimmer. I used three coats for opacity. I've already shown you this one last year, but I hope you don't mind seeing this beauty again (and I don't have any unworn pinks left...)

For the stamping I used P2 So Innocent and ÜberChic plate 1-01. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Reminisce (H)

Today I want to show you another of ILNP's multichrome polishes: the holo version of Reminisce.

"Reminisce (H) shifts from hues of stunning greens to refreshingly cool blues (you may even catch subtle hints of gold occasionally) depending on the angle of your fingertips and the type of lighting you’re under. The new Reminisce (H) contains just the right amount of holographic splendor to add a beautiful rainbow sparkle to the polish. All without ruining the intense color shift effect!" (Source: ILNP). I used three coats for opacity.

The stamping was made using P2 Eternal and MoYou London Sailor Collection plate 06. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

ILNP polishes are available on Etsy and at their own shop.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Books

It's friday, and that means it's time for a new 40 Great Nail Art Ideas mani, this week with the theme "books".

I didn't feel inspired for a mani dedicated to a specific book, so I went for books in general instead and painted some old leather bound volumes on my ring and middle finger. My pinkie and index finger show a scripture stamping made with Vivid Lacquer plate VL 005. As base color I used OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh, the other polishes I used are P2 Eternal (black), P2 So Innocent (white), Barry M. Gold Foil (gold, duh) and Catrice Reggeaton (brown). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani some extra shine.

50 Years Star Trek

If you've been following my blog for a while, you might know that I'm a complete Sci Fi and fantasy geek. My first contact with Sci Fi were reruns of Star Trek The Original Series, back in the mid 80ies, when it was simply called Star Trek (Raumschiff Enterprise in german), because there existed only the one show (and a couple of movies). And today it's exactly 50 years since it first aired! For this occasion I want to show you this Star Trek themed mani I wore in may (I know, ages ago), when I was attending the german Sci Fi convention FedCon.

I started with three coats of ILNP Abundance. "Abundance is an absolutely gorgeous fall themed Ultra Chrome that couldn't be more suited to the colors of the season! Abundance effortlessly shifts through super vivid hues of red, orange, bronze. and gold" (Source: ILNP) I already wore Anbundance in this mani (with pictures of the polish on its own)

On top of Abundance I stamped Klingon letters using P2 Eternal and MoYou London Geek Collection plate 05. This stamping plate really is a must have for people like me, not only containing a Klingon pattern, a Gallifreyan motive and and a LotR-themed inscripture, but also 9 other geeky patterns. As usual, I finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - Aubergine

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is aubergine/eggplant.

My base color is Pahlish False Coordinates, a deep read leaning purple polish with tiny gold flakie glitter. I used three coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used Barry M. Gold Foil and MoYou London Holy Shapes Collection plate 15. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Pahlish polishes are available on Bigcartel and at Overall Beauty.

Marmolada

Today's polish is Elevation Polish's Marmolada.

Marmolada has a blue leaning grey jelly base (a little more blue than my pictures show) with silver microglitter, small purple hexes and silver dot glitters in two sizes. The larger glitters were quite shy and preferred to stay in the bottle instead of transferring to my nails... The base is quite sheer, I used three coats and as you can see in my pictures, my nails line was still visible. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani a smooth and shiny finish.

Elevation Polish are available at their own store .

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Peach or Lemon

Peach or Lemon are this week's challenge colors, and my personal pattern prompt is water spotting or marbelling.

I absolutely love the look of water marble manis, but I find this technique really hard to master. But I won't give up trying ;-) I used Essence Ice Cream Party (peach), Essence Va-Va-Voum (coral) and P2 So Innocent (white) over a white base (two coats of P2 So Innocent). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.
