Golden Oldie Thursday - White Base

Golden Oldie Thursday! This week's theme is white base.

The base color is Hungry Asian Cookies & Cream, a white jelly with tiny black glitters. The jelly base is very sheer, the picture shows three coats nowhere near opacity. Cookies & Cream was quite stringy and applied a little patchy, but since my bottle is almost two years old, maybe it's the age that damaged the formula...

aEngland Camelot and Pueen plate 21 were used to stamp this circle pattern. One coat of aEngland The Shield protected the stamping.

Have a look at what the other white Golden Oldies look like:

Bar Fight

Today's polish is Hungry Asian Bar Fight.

Bar Fight has a sheer black jelly base with aqua blue microglitter. I used one coat over a black creme (a England Camelot) and had no issues with application. One coat of Rica Glossy Glam topcoat provided a smooth finish.

Twenty Ten

Today's polish is Hungry Asian Twenty Ten.

Twenty Ten has a sheer black jelly base filled with red and silver hexes plus a little bigger blue holographic hexes.

I used one coat over a black creme (a England Camelot) and had no issues with application. One coat of Rica Glossy Glam topcoat was enough for a smooth finish.

Sea Creature

Today I have a polish by Hungry Asian to show you: Sea Creature.

For this mani I used one coat of Sea Creature over a black creme (a England Camelot). Sea Creature has a sheer black jelly base with green microglitter plus small pink and blue hexes, some of them holographic. No issues with application to report, one coat of Rica Glossy Glam topcoat provided a smooth finish.

Belle

Today's polish is Hungry Asian Belle.

Belle has a milky white crelly base with small rose gold hexes and a little bigger brown hexes. Belle is pretty sheer, it still looked quite squishy after three coats. One coat of Rica Glossy Glam topcoat provided a smooth and shiny finish.

Zera's Bone Daddy

Today I have two polishes to show you that have been waiting with my untrieds for ages...

My base color is TheHungryAsian Zera, a medium grey creme with a subtle green shimmer. The shimmer was hard to capture with my camera, IRL it's a little more visible. I used three coats for opacity.

On top of Zera I added two coats of CrowsToes Bone Daddy, a polish from last year's Halloween collection. Bone daddy has a very sheer grey base filled with white hexes in various sizes, white bars plus iridescent hexes thet look pee-yellow in the bottle shot and blue on my nails. Application was easy, only the largest hexes needed some fishing.

I finished this mani with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

Hungry Asian polishes are sold on Etsy. I bought my bottle of Zera more than a year ago, but it's still available.

Crows Toes polishes are available at LlaroweShoppe Eclecticco and Overall Beauty. At Llarowe, Bone Daddy is still in stock at the moment.

Mint and Turquoise Indies

Mint and turquoise are the colors of today's post.

I started with two coats of China Glaze For Audrey, a classic "Tiffany blue" creme.

My thumb shows two coats of Pretty & Polished Boot Camp (Discontinued). "This polish has medium/large blue hexes, pastel green and blue hex glitters and small green and blue hex glitters. "
(Source: Pretty & Polished Etsy shop)

The base is a shimmering light blue. It's pretty sheer, so it looks best layered.

On my index finger are two coats of KBShimmer Proud Peackock, "a dusty teal green base is accented by tons of glitter. We started with a large blue hex, and added both a black and black opal hex. We then went micro with black and white diamond glitters. Fuchsia, teal, and navy small glitters accent several holographic glitters, including a silver bar, teal, and two sizes of silver."
(Source: KBShimmer)

In my opinion, the base is not dark enough to be a teal, I'd call this color turquoise. Proud Peacock doesn't necessarily need a creme base, it's opaque in three coats.

On my middle finger I'm wearing two coats of Smitten Polish Mint Chip, "Two sizes of brown glitter suspended in a milky green base, designed to look like Mint Chip Ice Cream."
(Source: Smitten Polish Etsy shop).

It really does look like Mint Chip Ice Cream, with little chocolatey pieces.
Mint Chip can be worn alone, it's opaque with three coats.

Next, on my ring finger, is Happy Handy Springs, "
a chilly & serene turquoise jelly with small aqua hexes, algae green medium hexes, and shimmering medium silver holographic hexes."
(Source: Happy Handy Etsy shop)

It's opaque enough to be worn alone, but I prefer it layered.

Last, but not least, Hungry Asian Mint Condition on my pinkie finger. "Mint Condition is a light, bluish green creme with red, blue, purple and black hex glitters. I love robins egg blue and pale mint green so this is a bit of both! Please note that this color does lean blue so it is not a true mint green. "
(Source: The Hungry Asian Etsy shop)

This one can also be worn alone with three coats for full opacity.

None of these polishes gave me formula issues. No fishing for glitters or dabbing them on. I used one coat of Essie Good to Go to finish.
