Over The Harvest Moon For You

From green to blue an wednesday...

Today's polish is Pretty  and Polished Over The Harvest Moon For You, a sheer dark blue jelly with silver holo sparcles and blue glitters in hex, dot and moon shape, some of them holographic. Since the base was so sheer, I layered one coat over a dark blue base (two coats of Essie Midnight Cami). One generous coat of KBShimmer Clearly On top gave the mani a smooth finish.

Pretty & Polished sadly decided to close, but maybe you get lucky and find some bottles on blog sales or so...

Bubble Wrap

Some blue glitter for today.

As base color I made a saran wrap mani using Essence Wild White Ways and Deep Blue Sea. The glitter topper is Bubbles by Pretty & Polished. It has a clear base and is filled with hex, square and shard glitters in various shades of blue and aqua. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top provided a smooth finish.

Sadly, Pretty & Polished seem to be no longer available.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - mittelblau

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is medium blue.

The polish I chose is Pretty & Polished I Don't Think You're Ready For This Crelly, a medium blue crelly with white hex glitters and two sizes of blue and silver holo dots. I used three coats for opacity. Since the dot glitters are quite big and flat, and my nails are curved, the bigger glitters tend to stick out at the edges. I added two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top, but I could still feel the glitters.

Pretty & Polished are available on Etsy and at their own shop.

Ink Blue Diamond Necklace

It's icy cold here in Switzerland, so I matched the weather with my nails with this iridescent blue combo.

My base color is Kiko 335 Ink Blue, a royal blue jelly. The polish is quite sheer, as jellies usually are. The picture shows three coats (no topcoat, the shine comes from the Kiko).

Then I added one coat of Pretty & Polished The Diamond Necklace Affair. It has a clear base filled with duochrome hexes and bars, shifting from aqua to blue, silver hexes and iridescent shard glitters, plus some silver microglitter. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top provided a glassy finish.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Daddy Daughter Dance by Pretty & Polished is today's polish.

I've seen a lot pf pictures of this polish, or at least one with the same name, and a light blue base. But the base of mine is a milky white, quite sheer and still not completely opaque with three coats. The base is filled with hex and dot glitters in "candy colors", pink, purple, lilac, green and blue. Over three coats of Daddy Daughter Dance, that dried somewhat gritty, I used one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

To Be A Lady

Today's polish is called To Be A Lady by Pretty & Polished.

To Be A Lady has a milky, slightly peach-toned pink base with small blue hexes, medium pink matte hexes and two sizes of peach/pink circles. The big circles are holographic, it's mostly covered by the milky base, but you can see it on the egde of the glitters.

Application was easy, even the big circles came out of the bottle without fishing, I used three medium coats for this look. Due to the big glitters, To Be A Lady dries pretty gritty, even with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness and one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer the surface wasn't completely smooth.

Pretty & Polished are available on Etsy and at their own shop, but To Be A Lady seems to be discontiunued.

Rat-a-tat's Czechbook

Blue like a summer's sky is today's mani.

My base color for this mani is OPI Can't Find My Czechbook (Euro Centrale Collection), a medium sky blue creme. Formula was good, not too thin and not too thick, opaque in two coats.

Then I added one coat of Pretty & Polished Rat-a-tat, a clear base filled with black and blue hexes in various sizes plus blue micro bar glitters.

Application of Rat-a-tat was easy and it dried pretty smoothly. I finished with one coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dry.

Pretty & Polished are available on Etsy and at their own shop, but Rat-a-tat sadly is discontinued.
