Catching Fire

Catching Fire ist today's polish, and as you might have guessed, it's named after the Hunger Games trilogy (or quadrilogy, if you're looking at the movies instead of the books).

Catching Fire has a black jelly base with red and gold hexes and gold microglitter. The jelly base is very sheer, I used four coats and it was still nowhere near opaque. It didn't dry gritty, so one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top was enough for a smooth finish.

Evil Witch

Evil Witch is today's polish, and it's by The Polish Well.

Evil Witch has a forest green jelly base filled with green hex and square glitters plus gold and copper microglitter. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - weiss

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is white.

My white polish is The Polish Well Roses And Blood, a milky white jelly with small pink glitters and glass fleck shimmer. I used three coats for this still somewhat translucent look.

For the stamping I used L'Oréal Chrome Shine 347 and Bundle Monster plate BM-XL206 (in collaboration with Nailstamp4fun). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Coraline

Today's polish is The Polish Well Coraline.

Coraline has a deep blue jelly base with flakies that shift from blue to teal (sadly, I couldn't really capture the shift with my camera, only in the bottle shot, it gives the polish an overall teal look) and some blue holo glitters. I used three coats plus one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top and had no issues with application.

52 Week Challenge - 70s / Grey + Color

A new week, a new challenge theme: 70's and/or grey. As usual, I combined the two themes.

The grey polish is The Polish Well No Nightmares, a cloudy grey crelly with tiny purple and blue glitters. I used three coats and had no issues with application. On my ring and middle finger I used two coats of Essie Blanc as a base and added born pretty store water decals with a flower motive. And yes, I know, the Flower Power movement started in the late 60s, but it went on until the early 70s... One coat of KBShimmer was the finishing move, as usual.

Rhapysody Breaking Out

Today I have a new stamped mani to show you.

As base color I used The Polish Well Breaking Out, a deep blue polish with multicolored flakie shimmer. The pictures show three thin coats.

Then I added a chain-like pattern using Essie Blue Rhapsody, a light blue metallic, that looks almost silver over the deep blue of Breaking Out, and Bundle Monster plate BM-207. As always, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

At the moment, apparently there's no shop where The Polish Well polishes are available. If you follow The Polish Well Blog, Mich, the creator, announced pre-sales of her polishes, that's how I got mine.

Christmas Mani

I'm very late with showing you my Christmas mani, but I got sick right after Christmas and spent a whole week in bed (or on the couch) and didn't feel like editing pictures or writing a blog post (I ususally write my posts in advance and schedule them, that's why you still had something to read in the past few days). I'm felling a little better now (meaning I have to blow my nose only like every eight minutes instead of every two), so here it is: the mani I wore at Christmas.

As base color I used The Polish Well Wrath, a ruby red jelly with small black hexes, red hexes in two sizes plus red squares (or are they gold and just look red through the jelly base? Hard to tell). Application was easy, no issues to report, I used three coats for opacity and finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

For my accent nail I added a Christmas Tree using P2 Opulent, a dark, blackened green texture polish, and some striping tape (plus OPI Honey Ryder and a dotting tool for the "star" on top of the tree). These striping tape Christmas trees have been part of Christmas manis all over the internet for quite some time now, so I can't tell you who invented it (but I can tell you it wasn't me).
