Gold Boulevard

 Some neutral colors for today.

I started with three coats of ILNP The Boulevard, a grey-ish taupe polish with intense gold shimmer.

For the stamping I used Barry M. Gold Foil and ÜberChic plate 1-01. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the stamping.

ILNP polishes are available on Etsy, Hypnotic Polish, Harlow & Co. and at their own shop.

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Glänzend & Matt

Shiny and matte is this week's theme for the Frisch Lackiert Challenge.

For this mani I chose Kiko Laser Lacquer 435 Dark Heroine (Limited Edition), a duochrome shimmer shifting from teal to purple. Sadly, the color shift didn't really translate to the nails, it looks mostly blue when worn. After the base was completely dry (I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to speed up drying time) I used some star nail vinyls, added a genreous coat of Picture Polish G'Day Matte and removed the vinyls.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Wedding

Wedding is this week's challenge theme.

For this prompt I went with a classical approach, a jelly sandwich where I layered a white stamping (Born Pretty Store white stamping polish and Pueen 27 stamping plate) between two layers of a white jelly (Essie Marshmellow). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani some extra shine.

Chess!.... You Dog!

Another glitter mani for today.

I started with three thin coats of Essie Parka Perfect, a muted dove grey with very subtle silver shimmer.

My glitter topper is CrowsToes Chess!.... You Dog!, a clear base filled with lots of black and blue glitters in hex, dot and diamond shapes, some of them holograpic. This topper dried very gritty (my bottle is several years old, though, maybe it was less gritty when it was new. It's still available, so you can see for yourself, if you want), so I added two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Crows Toes polishes are available at their own store (US only), Femme Fatale Cosmetics, Color4Nails.

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Paradies & Karibik

The Frisch Lackiert Challenge wants to see the summer feeling with the prompt paradise and Carribean.

My base is a sunset gradient over a white base (two coats of Essence Wild White Ways), using Essence Va-Va-Voom, OPI Honk If You Love OPI (Touring America Collection) and Dating A Royal. The palm trees I painted by hand with Born Pretty Store black stamping polish. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Nail Crazies Unite: Black & White Lace

Nail Crazies Unite want to see black and white lace manis today, so here's mine.

I started with two coats of Essence Wild White Ways and stamped the lace using DRK Themes Enlaced plate and black Born Pretty Store stamping polish and finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top, simple as that.

This Is Not Fir

This Is Not Fir is the name of today's polish.

This Is Not Fir by Different Dimension is an emerald green jelly filled with green and silver holographic glitters in hex, dot, square and shard form. Since the jelly base is very sheer, I layered one coat over two coats of a Born Pretty Store stamping polish in a similar shade of green. For a smooth finish, I added one generous coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Different Dimension polishes can be found at their own shop and at Hypnotic Polish. These heavy glitters don't seem to be very trendy anymore, so This Is Not Fir is no longer available.

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Half Moon

Half moon is this week's prompt for the Frisch Lackiert Challenge.

I started with one coat of MoYou London Purple Mouse, a muted medium purple creme. The polish wasn't completely opaque after only one coat but since I was going to add another polish over it, I didn't mind the slightly visible nail line. For the half moon effect, I used something out of the stationery departement, that I just couldn't find an english word for it. In german, it's called Lochverstärkungsring. They are little round stickers with a hole in it, and you use them for papers that are filed in a folder, so the paper doesn't tear. Is it a german and swiss thing only? Wikipedia only knows this one in german and esperanto. Well, anyway, I put those little round stickers on my nail base and painted a generous coat of Flormar 14 over it (don't you just love these imaginative names?! I mean, "14", what a genious name...). Flormar 14 is a dark purple with lots of course shimmer in it. As finishing step, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top (after removing the stickers, obviously).
