1. August Mani

Last thursday was the Swiss national holiday, and as every year, I wore my nails accordingly.

I went for a quick and easy holiday mani. Just three coats of Cult Nails Bitten, a cherry red with flakie shimmer, and a distressed white cross I painted with the almost dry brush of my Born Pretty Store white stamping polish. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top and the mani was finished.

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Matt Metallic

Today, Frisch Lackiert wants to see matte metallic nails.





I started with three coats of Cult Nails Ms. Conduct, a dark chocolate brown creme. Over the base I stamped using Essie Penny Talk and MoYou London Flower Power Collection plate 12. For the matte finish I used Picture Polish G'Day Matte.

How much I love the combo of dark brown and rose or red gold, you can see in this picture with my Parker Premier :-)

Born Pretty Store Stamping Polish Pink Planet

It has been raining the whole night here in Switzerland, so here are at least some snowflakes on my nails.





My base color is two coats of Cult Nails Ms. Conduct, a dark chocolate brown creme. For the stamping I used Born Pretty Store stamping plates BP-185 and BP-01 and a stamping polish Born Pretty Store offered me for reviewing purposes, thank you so much! It's called Pink Planet and is a lovely metallic duochrome shifting form a regular yellow-ish gold to a lovely pink rose gold. As you can see, it worked flawlessly over the dark base. Living Water

Today's polish is Living Water by Cult Nails.






Living Water has a deep, almost black teal jelly base with tiny blue and green glitters in it. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

I Got Distracted

I Got Distracted by Cult Nails is today's polish.






I Got Distracted has a black jelly base filled with silver holographic microglitters and small green hex glitters. I used three coats for opacity. I Got Distracted doesn't dry really gritty, but it "drinks" topcoat like a camel drinks water after a ten day hike through the desert. I added two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top, but after both coats the polish felt kind of textures, as soon as the topcoat was completely dry. So after two coats I gave up and just lived with the textured surface...

52 Week Challenge - Zig Zag / Dark and Grungey

 

Today I have the last "52 week Challenge"-mani to show you. For a whole year I've been following prompts, and it was quite fun. That's why I'll start a new one year challenge next week. But until then, here are the last two themes for this challenge: zig zag and dark & grungey.





My base color is Cult Nails Masquerade, a dark green jelly with color shifting glitters, shifting from green to pink. I used three coats on my pinkie, index and thumb.

For the other two nails, I started with three coats of Nubar Gem, a nude base with pink shimmer and scattered holo glitter. Atfer this base was completely dry, I added two coats of Masquerade over small chevron nail vinyls and removed the vinyls right after the second coat. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

A Box, Indied - Endless Rainbows

The next "A Box, Indied" polish I want to show you is Glisten&Glow Endless Rainbow.





I started with Cult Nails Midnight Mist as a base color. Midnight Mist das a brown (slightly olive leaning) jelly base with pink shimmer. The picture shows two coats.








Then I added another thick coat of Midnight Mist and just blobbed on Endless Rainbow, a medium pink holographic, directly with the bottle brush on the still wet base. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.
