When Colours Collide: Gold, Copper and Black

When Colours Collide wanted to see a gold, copper and black mani last week. I was sure I had a copper metallic polish, but I couldn't find it, so I improvised with copper glitter.

I started with two coats of L'Oréal Chrome Shine 343, a golden metallic, and dabbed some Glimmer By Erica Harvest Moon on it, a clear based glitter topper with hex glitters in various shades of copper and gold. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top smoothed the surface a little. For the stamping I used black Born Pretty Store stamping polish and ÜberChic Lovely Leaves 02 plate. I topped the mani with one coat of Bundle Monster Smudge Free Top Coat.

Glimmer by Erica polishes are available on Etsy. There's still a glitter topper named Harvest Moon available, but it looks a little different than my very old version...

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Lieblingsbuch/-film

Favourite book or movie is this week's prompt for the Frisch Lackiert Challenge.

I had a hard time deciding what to do, since I don't have a single favourite book or movie. On of my most beloved books (I've read it at least 15 times) is the german fantasy classic "Die unendliche Geschichte" (The neverending story). I started with three coats of Manhattan Marcel Ostertag 005, a grey creme, since the cover of the german edition is grey. Then I stamped a black wolf (Magno Nails plate MM34), a white dragon with golden eyes (MoYou London Suki Collection plate 07) and a white horse (Bundle Monster plate BM-615). The black snake that bites a white snake's tail I painted by hand. The polishes I used are black and white Born Pretty Store stamping polishes and Barry M. Gold Foil. I finished with one coat of Bundle Monster Smudge Free Top Coat.

Creep It Together

Today I have something very rare for you, a brand new polish ;-) I usually buy polishes and wait for months or years until I wear them, but this beauty I had to use immediately.

Creep It Together (by KBShimmer) is a multichrome magnetic shimmer with colorshifting flakies. The polish (and the flakies) show all the fall colours, green, gold, orange, red/pink. The bottle shot also shows some blue, but this wasn't visible on the nails. I used two coats, only magnetizing the second one. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to top the mani, again no magnetizing.

KBShimmer polishes are sold on their website (US only) and at Harlow & Co.

Wood You Wanna Honey?

Something more business appropriate for today!

As base I applied three coats of Pahlish Slow Like Honey. On my ring and middle finger, I stamped using MoYou London Princess COllection plate 14 and China Glaze Wood You Wanna?. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Pahlish polishes are available on their own shop and at Overall Beauty.

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Doppelstamping

Double stampings is what the Frisch Lackiert Challenge asks for this week.

Fall has finally arrived in Switzerland and the last days have been quite foggy. I decided to try to capture the weather on my nails.

I started with two coats of Essie Marshmellow, a white jelly. Then I stamped the birch trees with black and white Born Pretty Store stamping polish and ÜberChic Lovely Leaves plate 03, there are two birch patterns especially designed for double stamping. To protect the stamping, I added one coat of Bundle Monster Smudge Free Top Coat (my first try with this one, it worked perfectly). Then another coat of Marshmellow for some more fog, and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to speed up drying time.

Nail Crazies Unite: Ghost & Matte

With Halloween nearing, the Nail Crazies Unite want to see ghosts and matte today.

I decided to keep this one monochrome and started with two coats of aEngland Bridal Veil, a black polish with some holo sparkles. I was so sure I had some ghost stamping patterns, but in my more than 100 plates, not one single ghost pattern was to be found. So I hand painted them, using Born Pretty Store black and white stamping polish, a nail art brush and a dotting tool. After my usual coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to protect the nail art, I added one coat of Picture Polish G'Day Matte for the matte effect.

When Colours Collide: Pink, White and Gold

After the end of 26 Great Nail Art Ideas, I decided to join another Facebook nail art group, When Colours Collide. They just give the colors, how you do the nail art is completely up to every participant.

This week's colors are pink, white and gold, so I used OPI My Adress Is "Hollywood", Essence Wild White Ways and Barry M. Gold Foil. I drymarbled on my ÜberMat and applied the polish using a stamper over one coat of Wild White Ways. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Mix & Match

Let's start the week with some mix and match for the Frisch Lackiert Challenge.

On the Frisch Lackiert blog it was mentioned, that the idea for this task came from the mix & match stamping plate collection by MoYou London. A perfect excuse to buy some new stamping plates, since I didn't own any of this collection ;-)

I started with two coats of Essence Black is Back. For the stamping I used my new MoYou London Mix & Match Collection plate 10, Kiko Mirror Lacquer 626 (Lawn Green), Colour Alike B. a Rudolph and B. a. Holy Night. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the stamping.
