26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Blobbicure

Today's the last prompt of the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas (at least for this round, I sure hope there's going to be another one), and it's blobbicure.

My base color is Dollish Polish Walker Bait 163, a very dark, almost black murky green linear holo with a golden sheen. I used two coats on my accent nails, three on the ones where I'm wearing it on it's own.

For the blobs I used Girly Bits Giggity Giggity Goo, a silver linear holo with pink undertones. I applied it directly with the bottle brush on the fresh second coat of my base. For a blobbicure, you need to work fast and one nail at a time, if the base is only slightly dried, the blobs won't spread. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani some extra shine.

Dollish Polish are available at their store. But careful, if you're a geek like me, and tend to buy polishes because they're named after your favorite movie or TV show, this shop is seriously dangerous for your wallet...

Girly Bits polishes are available at her own store, Harlow & Co. and Mei Mei's Signatures.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Fire And/Or Ice

Fire and/or ice are this week's challenge theme. I couldn't decide, so I went with the "and" option ;-)

I started with two coats of Essie Black Is Back. The stamping plate is DRK-B. For the fiery flames I used a light yellow Born Pretty Store stamping polish, MoYo London Sweet Custard and Autumn Harvest. The icy flames where stamped with white Born Pretty Store stamping polish, Barry M. Silver Foil and Kiko Mirror Lacquer 624 Sky Blue. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the stamping.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Pattern On Pattern Or Double Stamping

Pattern on pattern or double stamping are asked for this week's 26 great nail art ideas.

I started with three coats of Colors By Llarowe Bad (of their Michael Jackson collection, who's 60 birthday would have been this week), a duochrome shimmer shifting from a steel blue to purple. The duochrome effect is quite camera shy, but I can assure you, IRL it was clearly visible.

For the stampings I used white Born Pretty Store stamping polish, Barry M. Silver foil and two patterns from the DRK-D plate. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Silhouette Scene

Silhouette Scene is this week's challenge theme. I really love this type of mani, so here's mine.

For the sunset background, I sponged a gradient using pale yellow, light blue and royal blue Born Pretty Store stamping polishes over a white base. For the stamping I used black Born Pretty Store stamping polish and Bundle Monster plate BM-S187. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the mani.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Stamped Gradient

Friday is Challenge Day! A stamped gradient was asked for this week.

Since I really like gradients, I went double for this task, stamped gradient on gradient base. The two polishes I used for this mani are MoYou London After The Storm and Purple Mouse, my stamping plate is Moyra 11 Damask Drapery. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the stamping.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Stars

Stars are this week's challenge theme.

My base color is Colors By Llarowe Orion, and the perfect example of what can happen if you're waiting too long with wearing a polish. When I bought this one a couple of years ago (yes, I know, shame on me...), it was a deep purple jelly with lots of silver microglitter. As I read in other blogposts about it, it was opaque with 2-3 coats. When I took my bottle out of the drawer, it looked more plum than purple, and turned to chocolate brown on my nails. Plus, it apparently got sheerer with time, the tree coats I used weren't completely opaque. I still like what it looks, but it's not what I bought anymore...

For the stamping I used Kiko Mirror Lacquer 630 (Golden Rose) and ÜberChic plate 1-03. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Least Favourite Color

The 26 Great Nail Art Ideas ask for my least favourite color today. This one was easy for me, I don't really like oranges, and I really don't care about neons, so I chose a polish I honestly just keep for challenges, I wouldn't wear it otherwise...

Black Cat Lacker Sunburned is my base, a neon orange crelly with very subtle flakie shimmer (I think this one might be UV sensitive, in daylight it looks more orange, in artificial light more coral). I used three coats and as you can see, my nail line is still visible, the polish is quite sheer. For the half moon stamping I used white Born Pretty Store stamping polish and MoYou London Kaleidoscope Collection plate 06. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the stamping.

Black Cat Lacquer have their own store, but Sunburned was part of a "A Box, Indied" and never was sold separatly.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Graffiti

Graffiti is this week's challenge theme. I love good street art and usually take pictures if I see something I like, bot honestly, most graffitis are just one colored smudges done in a couple of seconds, right?! And since I'm not really an artist, I went with the kind of graffiti you see most (not the four letter words, though. OK, one four letter word, but a nice one...), not the one that really are pieces of art ;-)

As base I used three coats of Essence The Dawn Is Broken (Vampire's Love LE), a light grey with silver and black microglitters that looks a little like a concrete wall.

For the stampings I used MoYou London and Born Pretty Store stamping polishes and Bundle Monster plates 07, 09, 202, 209 and 418. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.
