40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Summer

It doesn't really feel like summer here in Switzerland (which is somehow typical for june here), but summer is this week's challenge theme, so here we go. Since I really (really) love ice cream (especially the italian gelati), I decided to try an ice cream mani.

For the "cones" part, I used Essie Case Study, Chanel Particulière and a striping brush. For the ice cream I used Essence Mellow Yellow (vanilla yellow), Essence Always In My Mint (pistacio green) and Essie Lady Like (strawberry pink). As usual,  finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Quartz

More work wear for today (you can count the amount of business meetings I had on the amount of work wear manis I show ;-)   )

My base color is Chanel Quartz, a cool toned neutral shimmer. Depending on the light, it looks more beige/nude or more grey. Quartz is pretty sheer, I used three coats for (more or less) opacity.

Then I used Konad plate m64 and Enchanted Polish Vampire's Dessert (already shown here) to stamp this geometric pattern. One coat of Rica Glossy Glam topcoat marked the final step of this mani.

Enchanted Polish are pretty hard to get nowadays (as you can see me bottle is an old one, when they weren't as htg) but if you're lucky they're available at Mei Mei's Signatures, Pshiiit and Big Cartel.
I'd recommend to follow the brand on Facebook or Twitter to get updates on restocks.Vampire's Dessert was a limited edition back in 2012 and is no longer available.

Particular Yoshi

A new week starts. The first full week at work after two weeks with only two office days (or just one, if you were home sick like me)...

My base color for today's mani is Chanel Particulière, a brownish taupe creme (yes, I dare using a Chanel polish as base color for glitters). Particulière became an instant classic when it was released in spring 2010 and I'm sure pretty much every brand released some kind of dupe (or at least a similar color) since. Application was easy, I used two coats and had no issues (I used no topcoat, that's how shiny it really dries).

On top of Particulière, I dabbed one coat of Dollish Polish Dino-mite Yoshi (Super Mario Collection). "This Dynamic dinosaur is a fantastic, jumper, eater of some good and some questionable things, and an all around helper and a loyal friend to Mario. Matte glitters in pastel Green, bright Green, Red, Orange & White all in a clear base make up this dino-riffic shade!"
(Souce: Dollish Polish)

I had no issues with application and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Dollish Polish are available at their store, at Llarowe and at Overall Beauty. Dino-mite Yoshi is discontinued, but if you're lucky, you can still grab one of the last bottles at the clearance section of the Dollish Polish shop.
