Yps lackiert Challenge: Herbststimmung

A new challenge starts today, the Yps lackiert Challenge. The first prompt is Herbststimmung, that roughly translates to autumn mood or atmosphere.

I started with a base of gold (L'Oréal Chrome Shine 343), then sponged on the same gold, a light copper (MoYou London Fox Fur), a golden brown (MoYou London It's A Date) and a brownish red (a England Briar Rose). I left the liquid latex on my fingers for the stamping, so you can see why you should always use some cuticle protection when spongeing ;-)

For the stamping I used a very old chocolate brown shimmer (Catrice Smooth Chocolate) and MoYou Lovely Leaves plate 02. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished the mani.

Seriously Sassy

Seriously Sassy is today's polish by Girly Bits.

My camera hated this polish and showed it blue, when in fact it's a cool toned purple jelly with blue and purple glitters, as you can see by the cheap cellphone bottle shot at the end of the post. Somebody tell my why I use my big DSLR for pictures again...?

For the stamping I used Barry M. Lilac Foil (again, purple, not blue) and MoYou London Minimal Collection plate 01, plus, as usual, one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Girly Bits polishes are available at her own store, Harlow & Co. and Mei Mei's Signatures, but Seriously Sassy seems to be no longer available.

Flower Road

Flower Road sounds like spring, but the colors of today's polish definitely call "fall".

Flower Road is one of Born Pretty Store's Magnetic Holo Series. They're not really holo, despite their name, but magnetic multichrome shimmers with some flakies. Flower Road shifts from magenta to a golden green. In the bottle you can also see some blue hues on the egde of the bottle, but no blue was visible on the nails. I appplied two coats over a black base (Essence Black Is Back) and magnetized the second coat, then I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

When Colours Collide: black, purple and pastel blue

Black, (midtone) purple and pastel blue are the colors that were asked for in the latest round of When Colours Collide.

I used my purple as a base, two coats of Essie Shades On. Then I stamped with tow different patterns, first with light blue Born Pretty Store stamping polish and ÜberChic Texture-Licious 3 plate for a more textured base, then with black Born Pretty Store stamping polish and MoYou London Crystal Collection plate 04 for the diamond gradient. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top added last.

Butterfly Nebula

Butterfly Nebula (by Different Dimenion) is today's polish.

Butterfly Nebula has has a deep cool toned purple jelly base filled with miltichrome hex glitters shifting through the whole rainbow. The color shift is better visible in the bottle than it is on the nail, but I love the polish nontheless. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Different Dimension polishes can be found at their own shop and at Hypnotic Polish. Butterfly Nebula is no longer available, but there are a lot of other lovely shades.

Metallic 4 Life

Do you love glitter? If you do, this one's for you.

OPI Metallic 4 Life has a black jelly base and lots of silver hex glitters in three sizes. I applied three coats and added one generous coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

When Colours Collide: Yellow, Grey and Brown

I took a short break from blogging, but not from polishing my nails, so I have a lot of manis to show you. Let's start with the latest round of When Colours Collide with the prompt yellow, grey and brown.

Not my favorite combo, to be honest. It has some industrial vibe to me, so I went with a distressed mani. As base I used three coats of Girly Bits Peel Here, a light grey with a subtle silver fleck shimmer. Then I applied the brown (Catrice Dilce & Havanna) and yellow (MoYou London Sweet Custard) directly with the almost dry bottle brush. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top sealed the mani.
