When Colours Collide: black, white, grey and ?

The latest round of When Colours Collide ended yesterday and here's my entry.

The three given colors I used as a gradient base, Essence Wild White Ways, Catrice So Suit! and Essence Black Is Back. I started with one coat of the white polish and sponged on the gradient with two coats.

My fourth color is MoYou London Mango Tango, a stamping polish I'd call neon coral (is there something like neon coral?). I used a pattern from MoYou London Holy Shapes plate 04, secured the stamping with one coat of Maniology Smudge Free Top Coat and added one coat of Essie Matte About You top coat.

When Colours Collide: red, blue and yellow

The latest round of When Colours Collide asked for the three primary colors.

I started with a yellow base (three coats of Catrice Earnie and Birdy). The red and blue Born Pretty Store polishes I applies with the almost dry brush for an abstract effect. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this very quick and easy mani.

When Colours Collide: brown, beige & purple

I've been very lazy with blogging in the last couple of months, but with the new year, I try to do better. Let's start 2020 with the latest round of When Colours Collide.

I started with two coats of OPI Did You 'Ear About van Gogh?, a light beige creme. Then I sponged on a gradient using the OPI and Catrice Dulce & Havanna, a medium brown creme. My purple is MoYou London Purple House, the stamping plate I used is ÜberChic 15-03. I secured the stamping with one coat of Maniology Smudge Free Top Coat and added one coat of Essie Matte About You.

When Colours Collide: grey and mint

Grey and mint where the colors for the latest round of When Colours Collide.

I went for a simple stamping, with Catrice ASHley as a base (three coats) and MoYou London Mint Condition and ÜberChic Lovely Leaves 02 plate for the stamping. I added cone coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top, plus one coat of Essence Meet Matt topcoat for the satin finish.

Yps lackiert Challenge: Herbststimmung

A new challenge starts today, the Yps lackiert Challenge. The first prompt is Herbststimmung, that roughly translates to autumn mood or atmosphere.

I started with a base of gold (L'Oréal Chrome Shine 343), then sponged on the same gold, a light copper (MoYou London Fox Fur), a golden brown (MoYou London It's A Date) and a brownish red (a England Briar Rose). I left the liquid latex on my fingers for the stamping, so you can see why you should always use some cuticle protection when spongeing ;-)

For the stamping I used a very old chocolate brown shimmer (Catrice Smooth Chocolate) and MoYou Lovely Leaves plate 02. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished the mani.

When Colours Collide: Yellow, Grey and Brown

I took a short break from blogging, but not from polishing my nails, so I have a lot of manis to show you. Let's start with the latest round of When Colours Collide with the prompt yellow, grey and brown.

Not my favorite combo, to be honest. It has some industrial vibe to me, so I went with a distressed mani. As base I used three coats of Girly Bits Peel Here, a light grey with a subtle silver fleck shimmer. Then I applied the brown (Catrice Dilce & Havanna) and yellow (MoYou London Sweet Custard) directly with the almost dry bottle brush. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top sealed the mani.

Girly Bits polishes are available at her own store, Harlow & Co. and Mei Mei's Signatures

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Galaxy

This week, Frisch Lackiert wants to see galaxy nails, and her wish is my command ;-)

Since these are only my second galaxy nails, I followed this Youtube tutorial, using Essence Deep Blue Sea as base and sponging with Essence Wild White Ways and Black Is Back, Essie Rock The Boat and Catrice It's All I Can Blue. The glitter topper is Catrice Have An Ice Day. I added some stars using a dotting tool and the white Essence, and then topped everything with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Rhodium Suit

Some grey and silver for today.

As base I used three coats of Catrice So Suit! (FeMALE Limited Edition), a dark grey polish that dries to a semi-matte finish (ok, the matte finish is not visible, but worn alone without topcoat it's there). My glitter topper is Emily de Molly Rhodium, a clear base with lots of silver holo glitters in various sizes, mostltly hexes but also some squares. I used a genreous coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Emily de Molly polishes are available on Etsy and at their own shop (Australia only) and at a lot of international stockists. Rhodium seems to be discontinued, I couldn't find it in the shops anymore.
