Born Pretty Store Flower Nail Stickers

The next Born Pretty Store item I want to show you are some golden flower nail stickers. Thank you Born Pretty Store for offering these!






As base color I used Essence Black Cats Wanted (Midnight Masquerade Limited Edition), a green jelly polish with lots of tiny glitters shifting from purple to green. I used three coats.





The nail stickers come in a sheet and you can cut out the patters just how you want them. Just remove the back foil and stick them on your nails. Sadly, they don't stick well at all. I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for protection, but as you can see, they soon started to peel off at the edges. I took a shower some hours after I did my nails, and I just could easily peel off all the stickers. So sadly, I can't recommend them (or at least not if you're planning on acutally wearing the mani...). If you still want to try them, you can get theme here for 1.49$.

Nail Crazies Unite: Nautical

 

Nautical is this week's challenge theme.





Of course, I chose blue and white for this mani, the typical nautical colors. I was planning to work with a navy blue, but when I checked my polish drawers, I realised that I literally own dozens of blue polishes, but not a single navy creme that's fit for stamping. I definitely need to buy some more polish, it seems ;-) The blue polish I chose in the end is OPI I Saw... U Saw... Warsaw, a navy creme with slight green undertones, that stamps on the medium blue-green side. My white is MoYou London White Knight, the plates are Bundle Monster BM-502, BM-509 and BM-XL216 (in collaboration with paulinaspassion). As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - braun

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is brown.





I chose Essence Out Of The Forest (Wild Craft limited edition), a medium brown creme with green undertones. I used three coats for opacity.

For the finished mani, I used some water decals Born Pretty Store offered me, thank you so much! There are two designs on the sheet with ten decals each, so you get two full manis out of it. If you like these decals, you can get them here for only 99ct.

Application of the decals was quite easy: just remove the transparent protection foil, soak the decals in warm water for 20-30 seconds, remove the white sheet underneath and place them on your wet nails. It's really important to wet your nails with water, if you don't, you'll probably tear the decals. You can move the decals around on your wet nails until you're happy with the placement. Then dab the water off with some tissue and add topcoat. The decals are square, but you can remove the edges with polish remover. Or do it the easy way like I do: the topcoat makes the decals really fragile, so I just use a rosewood stick to remove the parts that are bigger than my nails. I recommend applying a white base (I used one coat of MoYou London White Knight) under the decals, the white part you see on the sheet is transparent, so you'll need the white base to let the white parts of the pattern stay white.

Born Pretty Store Magical Series Fiery Love

Born Pretty Store sent me some new items, thank you so much! The first one I wore is a multichrome flakie topper called Fiery Love.

As base I chose a deep red creme (three coats of ) OPI Skyfall. The topper Fiery Love (of the "Magical Series") has a clear base packed with flakies shifting from pink oder gold and green to blue. There are so mani flakies in the polish, you could probably build it up and wear it alone. Fiery Love reminds me very much of the ILNP Flakie Toppers, and if you follow my blog, you know how much I love these. Colour Explosion is this week's challenge theme, and it made me think of a splatter mani (so that's what I did, obviously...)





I used MoYou London Sweet Custard, Surf's Up and Rusty Red over a white base (two coats of White Knight). As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

I chose Pahlish Like Calendars Dying for this week's prompt. It's not unworn, I have to admit, but I last wore it in 2013, so most readers will have long forgotten it ;-)

Like Calendars Dying has a pale green crelly base with hex, square and dott glitters in three different shades of green plus lots and lots of translucent flakies. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Like Calendars Dying is long gone, but other Pahlish polishes are available on Bigcartel and at Overall Beauty.

1. August Mani

Today's our swiss national holiday. Of course, I'm wearing a fitting mani.




My base color is Different Dimension Cat's Exe Nebula, a burgundy red jelly filled with colorshifting flakies and some holo glitters. While the bottle shows a color shift through the whole rainbow, it doesn't really translate to the nail. In my close up shot, you can see some yellow and green, but for the naked eye, the polish just looks like in the other mani pictures: some red, some orange, that's it, rather boring I have to admit. A polish that looks way more interesting in photos than in real life... I used three coats for opacity and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top. The swiss cross I painted with MoYou London White Knight.
