Snow Flaking Way

Before winter is over, I want to show you another winter polish: KBShimmer Snow Flaking Way (Winter 2013 Collection)

"Being a Minnesota native, living in Indiana has made snow all the more magical, as this far south, snow is not covering the ground at all times during winter.  This polish is an ode to those midnight flurries that covered the cars each morning.  Sliver holographic snowflakes are set in this deep indigo purple jelly base.  Violet and sky blue holographic glitters add depth and sparkle."

As far as I could see, all glitters in this polish are holographic. There are hexes in multiple sizes, the mentioned snowflakes, circles and some tiny bars. I used three coats for opacity and had no issues with application. Only the snowflakes needed a little fishing, but that's perfectly normal with glitters this size. One coat of Rica Glossy Glam topcoat was enough for a smooth finish over most of the glitters, only the snowflakes weren't completely smooth (but as I didn't have too man of them on my nails, I was too lazy to add an additional layer of topcoat).

KBShimmer polishes are sold on their website (US only) and at Harlow & Co.

  3. Beautiful! The nail polish has the right amount of sheerness to it, so that the glitters show nicely ... love it! LG

    1. Thank you Stephie! It's not easy to get the right balance between sheer enough to show the glitters and opaque enough to get, well opaque, an KBShimmer really know how to do it :-)

    1. You're not the only one, if this wasn't a 2013 polish, it would absolutely be on my top 10 (or top 14) list at the end of this year.

I hope you have an awesome weekend, too!

    1. Die Schneeflocken gefallen mir auch besonders gut, auch wenn ich eigentich nicht so auf solchen "Figuren-Glitzer" (Sterne, Herzen, Tannenbäume etc.) stehe.
