Grey Potosi

Today I have a silver and gold combo to show you.

As base color for this mani I used three coats of Barielle Out-Grey-Geous, a silver grey metallic polish with golden shimmer particles. Out-Grey-Geous is very sheer, even after three coats my nail line was still pretty visible irl.

For a little more "bling" I added Cirque Colors Potosi, a clear base with small silver and gold hexes, silver squares and shards.

This polish was a little difficult to work with, it's not really packed with glitter, so I had a lot of the clear base on my nails until I was happy with the amount of glitter. I added one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer to smooth the surface (and speed up drying time), but some of the shards refused to lay flat and stuck up through the topcoat.

Cirque polishes are sold at their own store, at Harlow & Co., at Edgy Polish and at Mei Mei's Signatures, but Potosi is discontinued.

  1. I love this combination - bummer for the renitent glitter and the sparse amount - I like the final result and think the amount of glitter is just perfect!!! (Renitent isch glaub ich kei englisch Wort ;-P)

    1. Thank you, Christine. I like the amount of glitter in the final result, too, but I needed too much base to get there...

  2. I like glitter top coats but I agree that it would have been nice if it was more packed with glitter.

    1. I guess I'd a little spoiled with all the indie brands jam-packing their glitter toppers with all sorts of stuff, so I get disapointed by a "normal" amount of glitter ;-)
