40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Geeks

It's time for the next challenge mani with the theme geek. I consider myself 100% geeky, and I had a hard time to chose between the tons of sci fi and fantasy books, movies and TV shows I love. In the end, I decided to recreate Work Play Polish's Star Trek mani (or at least something like it).





The colors I used are Catrice Earnie & Birdy (yellow), Catrice It's All I Can Blue (blue), Essie Size Matters (red), P2 Eternal (black) and Barry M. Gold Foil (gold). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the mani.

Golden Greatness

Greatness is the name of this fall colored ILNP multichrome polish.





"Greatness travels through rich and intense hues of wine red, orange, copper, and gold. About as regal as you can get, Greatness will definitely have you feeling like royalty!" (Source: ILNP) I used three coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used Barry M. Gold Foil and MoYou London Explorer Collection plate 07. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Edgy Gold

As the year progresses, it's time for another autumnal mani in gold and brown.

My base color is Orly Edgy, a blackened base with lots of golden brown, copper and green flakies. I used three coats for opacity.







For the stamping I used Barry M. Gold Foil and Bundle Monster plate BM-707. As always, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Teal

Teal is the first color prompt of the "40 Great Nail Art Ideas" challenge, and my first personal pattern prompt is Ikat.





Like the last time I did an ikat mani, I followed this tutorial by MissJenFabulous. As base color I applied two coats of Essence Shopping @Portobello Road (Vintage District LE). For the Ikat pattern I used Catrice It's All I Can Blue, Essie Blanc and P2 Eternal with a small nail art brush. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Awake And Changeable

Blue and grey are the color of today's mani.





My base color is LynBDesigns So Changeable, a clear base filled with tons of glitters shifting from blue to purple (of course my blue-loving camera didn't want to show the purple, so you just have to believe me when I tell you it's there). I used three coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used China Glaze Awaken and Bundle Monster Plate BM-719. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished the mani.

Olive Briarwood

For this fall mani I used two holo polishes, the reddish-brown a England Briarwood and the golden-green Enchanted Polish Olive The Other Reindeer.





I used a different technique on each nail, saran wrap, stamping (with Vivid Lacquer plate VL 013) and on my index, I only used Briarwood and added a Born Pretty Store stud. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Enchanted Polish are pretty hard to get nowadays, but if you're lucky they're available at Mei Mei's Signatures, Pshiiit and Big Cartel.

A Box, Indied - Bass Ackwards

The last polish of the september "A Box, Indied" is Girly Bits Bass Ackwards.





Bass Ackwards is a neon thermal with tiny flakie shimmer. The polish is neon orange while cold and neon pink while hot. The color change goes really fast, to take a picture int the hot state (my hands are usually cold), I had to hold my hair drier in my left hand, blow hot air on my fingers and take the picture at the same time (luckily, I use a tripod, so I didn't have to hold my camera...).

For the stamping I used P2 Eternal and Bundle Monster plate BM-712. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani some extra gloss.
