Midsummer's Midnight

Today's the longest day of the year (at least here in the northern hemisphere) so I have a matching polish to show you: Hare Polish Midsummer's Midnight.

Midsummer's Midnight has a black jelly base filled with fuchsia, purple and green hexes in various sizes plus purple and blue squares.

Application was a breeze, I layered one coat over a black creme (as always, Manhattan 1010N) and had a great glitter payoff. Midsummer's Midnight dried pretty smooth, I added one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri for a glassy finish.

Hare polishes are available on Etsy or at Llarowe.

Royal And Ethereal

This mani contains one polish I knew I was going to like and one that really surprised me.

I started with NYX Royal Blue, a dark blue (I wouldn't call it royal blue, it's darker, more like ink) polish I thought to be a creme/jelly hybrid. After I applied it (two thicker coats) I realised it's filled with a very subtle blue shimmer that gives it so much more depth than I expected.

On top of Royal Blue I applied one dabbed coat of GlimmerbyErica Ethereal. "It has a blue and yellow micro fine glitter base with slightly larger blue and yellow hexes and even bigger blue, green and yellow hexes. The yellow is true yellow, not gold."
(Source: GlimmerbyErica)

Application was easy, even with the bigger hexes. I finished with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri for a glassy smooth finish.

The original version of Ethereal I'm showing here was a limited edition and is long gone. But after popular request Erica mixed a new version that is still available, along with other gorgeous polishes, on  Etsy.

Stone Cold Sullen Girl

A new day, a new mani :-)

As base color I used China Glaze Stone Cold (Capitol Colours Collection), an anthracite polish with silver shimmer particles. It dries matte and due to that very fast, and is very opaque. Pictures show one single coat.

On top of Stone Cold I dabbed one coat of Pahlish Sullen Girl, a sheer grey tinted base filled with holographic, blue and iridescent hexes in two sizes.

Sullen Girl is very sparkly and dries not too gritty. I finished with one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

Pahlish polishes are available on Etsy , at Overall Beauty and at Llarowe.

Sneezy the Huntsman

Both polishes in today's mani were part of the same limited edition: Essence Snow White.

My base color for this mani is Sneezy, a milk chocolate brown with white glass flecks. I used two thicker coats for copacity.

Then I dabbed on one coat of The Huntsman. The Huntsman has a clear base filled with copper microglitter, gold hexes and semi-translucent shards. I finished with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

Cheshire Blues Vants To Bite My Nude Neck

Today I have a glitter-topped gradient to show you.

I started with Essence Nude Or What? (Seasons Of Extremes Limited Edition), a pale smoky lilac creme. I used two coats, which weren't completely opaque, but as I intended to sponge over it, I didn't add a third.

As a next step, I took a make-up sponge and created a gradient using Nude Or What? on the tips and OPI Vant To Bite My Neck? (Euro Centrale Collection) at the base. Vant To Bite My Neck? is a dark grape colored creme. The gradient looks a little coarse on my pictures, but that's just my macro lens showing everything super sharp. IRL it looked pretty soft.

And as you probably know, I love to add a little "bling" to my manis, so I dabbed on one coat of ILoveNailpolish Cheshire Blues, "a heart stopping combination of purple, fuchsia, and light teal glitters punctuated with just the right amount of tiny pink hearts!"
(Source: ILoveNP)

I had no issues with the application of Cheshire Blues, even the hearts came out of the bottle willingly. I finished with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri for a glassy finish.

ILoveNailpolish are available on Etsy and at their own shop.

Elle

Some neutral glitter for today: KBShimmer Elle.

"The circus, full of fun, color, and a wonder for people of all ages. Lions, tigers, and elephants! Elle is our nail polish elephant. A pale grey  jelly color, we added several pink glitters, white and grey glitters for a polish that soft and beautiful."
(Source: KBShimmer)

The grey jelly base is very sheer, I used three coats for this squishy look. Application was easy, no fishing or placing of glitters needed. Elle dried pretty smoothly, so I added only one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.

Then I matted this mani with Essence Soft Touch Topcoat to make it even more demure, as I wore it to a congress for work.

KBShimmer polishes are sold on their website (US only) and at Harlow & Co.
