Nail Crazies Unite: Fruits

Fruits are this week's challenge theme.

I love summer fruits, especially berries, so I went with strawberries for this prompt. I used Essence Juicy Love, MoYou London Sweet Custard and Kiss The Frog, a dotting tool and a nail art brush. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished the mani.

Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate Time Travel BPX-L023

After monday's disappointment, the offered Born Pretty Store stamping plate I want to show you today made me completely happy again.

As base color I used two coats of Picture Polish Altered State over three coats of Barry M. Indigo. Altered State is a sheer multichrome polish shifting from purple to bronze, with scattered holo particles. The Picture Polish multichromes are too sheer to bo worn alone, so you need a dark base, either black, or some other color, like the dark blue I used.

For the stamping I used Barry M. Silver foil and the Born Pretty plate, that worked perfectly well and shows several clockwork patterns that make it ideal for steampunk manis (since it's named "time travel", I guess the plate was inspired by the intro of the TV show "Doctor Who"). The plate has the same size as the MoYou London plates and has a protective white plastic back. You can get the plate here for 2.39$. This time I have no reservations and can fully recommend it.

The stamping plate was offered for reviewing purposes. Again, thank you very much, Born Pretty Store!

Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate BP-L059

Born Pretty Store offered me soe new items, and the stamping plate BP-L059 is the first I want to show you. Thank you so much Born Pretty Store for this opportunity!

As base color I used two medium coats of Essie Take It Outside (shown here), a greige creme with purple/lilac undertones. For the stamping I used MoYou London White Knight and the Born Pretty Store plate. Sadly, this was the first BPS plate I wasn't happy with at all. The engravings are way too shallow, so I wasn't able to pick up the designs properly (as you might know, I stamp my nails at least once a week, so I know it's not due to my technique, the stamper or the polish...). I tried five different designs, but had the same problems with all of them. The plate has the same size as the MoYou plates, and also a white plastic back. You can get it here for 2.99$, but honestly, I can't really recommend it.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Water

Water is this week's challenge theme, and I opted for a pond mani (since ponds contain water...).

For the mani I used Nfu Oh JS32, MoYou London White Knight and some fish and wave patterns using Sailor Collection plates 06 and 07, Bundle Monster plates BM-502 and BM-503 and Pueen plate 70. The mani contains four coats of the teal jelly plus one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Interstellar

Today I want to show you another ILNP polish with the name Interstellar.

Interstellar is a multichrome shimmer shifting from teal over blue to purple, with lots of scattered holo particles. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top. Sadly, my camera only wanted to pick up all the blue and nothing of the other colors, so I added a crappy cellphone shot as last picture to give you an idea of the color shift (it's pretty subtle in this picture, too).

ILNP polishes are available on Etsy, Hypnotic Polish and at their own shop.

Lonesome Ocean

Lonesome Ocean is today's polish by Pahlish.

When I was googling this polish, I realised that there are two different polishes with the same name, one very old, from 2012, and a newer one, which is the one I have. Lonesome Ocean (in my version) has a sheer dark teal jelly base, filled with hex and square glitters in blue, pink, green and clear iridescent, and some blue flakie shimmer. My pictures show three coats (plus one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top), and as you can see, it's still nowhere from opaque.

Pahlish polishes are available on Bigcartel and at Overall Beauty.

Nail Crazies Unite: Music

Music is the theme for this week's challenge mani.

I started with three coats of Essence A Walk In The Park, the base color of the A Walk In The Part nail polish duo combo. A Walk In The Park is a medium green polish with slight blue undertones and a very subtle shimmer, and by subtle I mean almost invisible.

On my pinkie and index finger I added the topper of the duo combo, Stop For An Ice Cream. It has a clear base and blue iridescent flakie particles.

On my thumb, ring and middle finger I stamped some musical instruments and notes using China Glaze Cherish, DRK plates B and D and MJ plate IX. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.
