Blue Holo Ombre

It's typically me that I chose the only not-so-sunny day this summer to wear a holo ombre mani, but at least I managed to take some sunshine pictures... (the pictures of the individual finders are taken in indirect lamp light (Light box) )

For this mani I simply chose five different blue holos. I wore three coats each, no special basecoat (just Essence Ultra Nail Repair) and no topcoat.

My thumb shows Cirque Fascination Street,  a deep indigo.

On my index finger I used China Glaze Strap On Your Moonboots (Hologlam Collection), a slightly grey leaning navy.

My middle finger shows China Glaze Take A Trek (Hologlam Collection), a medium steel blue blue.

The ring finger is China Glaze Sci-Fly By (Hologlam Collection), a light cerulean blue.

And finally, on my pinkie finger, Colors By Llarowe Zipper, a very light pastel blue. This one is pretty sheer, the nail line was still visible after three coats.

With all five of this polishes, the first coat was very patchy, but it leveled out with the following coats. I used thin coats, so drying time was short wil all five polishes.

The three China Glaze polishes have a very similar holo effect, while the other two, by Cirque and Colors By Llarowe, have a little more scattered effect.

Cirque polishes are sold at their own store, at Harlow & Co., at Edgy Polish and at Mei Mei's Signatures.

Colors By Llarowe are available exclusively at Llarowe.

  1. What a great idea to do a holo ombre!!! I like how the China Glaze complement each other and the Llarowe is like an accent nail :-)!!!

  3. You really need a lot of nail polish to be able to pull this off, or at least a lot of nail polishes in the same color range. And I don't have that. That said, this does look amazing!

    1. I'm glad you like it! I really do have a lot of polish, sometimes even too much for my liking (when I look at all my untrieds)...
