Today I'd like to show you one of the ILNP multichrome flakies: Luna

"Luna is an amazing Ultra Chrome Flakie that shifts through stunning arrays of blue, pink, purple, red and fuchsia! You might even catch hints of orange and gold depending on your lighting."

I wore one coat of Luna over a base of OPI I Vant To Bite Your Neck, a dark purple creme, plus one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

 

I just couldn't resist mattefying it (with one coat of H&H Matte Topcoat)

So it Begins

Today's polish is Cadillacquer So it Begins

So it Begins has a light grey jelly base with pink shimmer, that gives it a lilac look, filled with white and lilac hexes and purple squares. I used three coats plus one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top. As you can see, the surface is still a little gritty, so a second layer of topcoat wouldn't have hurt.

So it Begins is no longer available, but a lot of other Cadillacquer polishes are available at Hypnotic Polish, at Llarowe and at Harlow & Co. The Bigcartel shop seems to be closed, but if you live in Switzerland you can also order the polishes directly from Madeleine (Miss Cadillacquer herself) via Email on her Blog.

 

52 Week Challenge - Stripes / Pastel

 Two new themes for this week's challenge: stripes and pastel.

I started with a base of ILNP Music Box, a pastel mint holo (I know it looks baby blue in my pictures, but it really is mint green. The bottle shot is more color accurate). I used three coats for opacity.







Then I added some Nail Vinyls and one generous coat of ILNP Washing Ashore, a shimmer polish with a colorshift from teal over blue to purple. After removing the vinyls, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Sea You Around

Today's polish is Sea You Around of the KBShimmer Summer 2014 collection









"This deep emerald green near teal jelly features fuchsia and silver circle glitters, light blue squares hexes in a base with scattered fuchsia micro slivers and micro sparkle."

I used three coats for opacity. Sea You around dries quite gritty, so I added one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth and glossy finish.

What Do You Mean It's Blue?!

Today's polish is What Do You Mean It's Blue?! by Pahlish.







What Do You Mean It's Blue?! has a royal blue jelly base with slightly green undertones. It's filled with blue and silver hexes in different sizes from tiny to medium, plus small green dots and green bars. I used three coats for more depth, even if it was already opaque with two coats.

What Do You Mean It's Blue?! dried somewhat gritty, so I added two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top to smooth it out.

"Spring Floral" OMG Nail Strips

These nail wraps were sent to my by OMG Nail Strips  to test and review, thank you so much!



Application of the nail strips wasn't too hard, even for somebody as clumsy as I am. Each set contains 14 strips in 7 sizes, so chances are good that you find a matching one for every nail. And if you don't, just chose a bigger one and simply use scissors to trim it to the right size. Remove the strip from the back foil, place it on the nail, smooth it, fold the excess down over the tip and file it away. You can see on the pictures below that I managed to get some wrinkles in the foil, but this was no problem: topcoat (I used KBShimmer Clearly On Top) smoothed everything out, as these Nail Strips are made of real nail polish (which made removal really easy, just normal polish remover). If my babbling is too confusing, here's an instruction video.

I wore these nail wraps for four days and didn't experience any chipping and only slight tipwear.

52 Week Challenge - Splatter / Aqua

Splatter and aqua are this week's challenge themes, so here comes my first splatter mani.





The base color I used is Manhattan Aqua Sky, an aqua polish with blue shimmer. I used three coats for opacity.





For the splatter design I used OPI Amazon... Amazoff (Brazilian Collection), a teal creme. I finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.
