26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Rainbow With A Technique Starting With S

This week, the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas ask to show a rainbow mani using a technique starting with S. There are various techniques with S, like sponging or stamping. I went with a saran wrap (yes, the second one this week. Sue me ;-)  )





Ok, I admit, you need a lot of imagination to see the rainbow. But I went from red to orange, from orange to yellow, from yellow to green, from green to blue and from blue to purple, so there's a rainbow somewhere...

I used red, green, blue and lilac Born Pretty Store stamping polishes, MoYou London Autumn Harvest and Maybelline Electric yellow, plus KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Bubble Wrap

Some blue glitter for today.

As base color I made a saran wrap mani using Essence Wild White Ways and Deep Blue Sea. The glitter topper is Bubbles by Pretty & Polished. It has a clear base and is filled with hex, square and shard glitters in various shades of blue and aqua. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top provided a smooth finish.

Sadly, Pretty & Polished seem to be no longer available. 

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Cut Out

Cut Out is this week's prompt for the Frisch Lackiert challenge. I kept it very simple, just one polish, nail vinyls, that's it.

The polish I used is China Glaze Watermelon Rind, an emerald green foil. As usual, it's a little greener than my blue-loving camera would show. I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top as finishing step.

Nail Crazies Unite: Pastel Watercolor

Pastel Watercolors is today's theme for the Nail Crazies Unite challenge.





I started with a white base (two coats of Essence Wild White Ways), dropped three Essie Silk Watercolor polishes (Point Of Blue, No Shrinking Violet and Blush Stroke) on a stamper and dabbed the polishes on the white surface until I was happy with the result. Then I stamped some roses over the base using a England Encore Margot and Bundle Monster plate BM-XL218. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly ON Top finished this mani.

2010 Matte Baubles

I haven't worn matte flakies for quite some time now, so it was time to change that.

My base color is Essie Bobbing For Baubles, a navy blue creme with and extremely shiny finish (the picture shows two coats without topcoat).





Then I added one coat of Nubar 2010, a flakie topper with translucent colorshifting flakies that show the complete rainbow, from red over orange, yellow and green to blue.





Then I added one coat of Picture Polish G'day Matte for a matte finish.

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Fishtail

The Frisch Lackiert Challenge is a nail art challenge hostet by the blog Frisch Lackiert (duh). It's been arbound quite some time now, but this round is the first time I'm participating, too. The first prompt is Fishtail.





For my mani I used three MoYou London stamping polishes, Sage Smoke, Ever Green and Winter Green. The fishtail pattern on my accent nails I painted directly with the brush of the polish bottles. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Creatures With Scales

Creatures with scales are this week's challenge theme. And since I love Fantasy and SciFi, the creature I chose is the dragon.





My base color is Pahlish The Ghost Shift, a charcoal grey holo with a golden sheen. I used three coats for opacity.





For the dragon I used white Born Pretty Store stamping polish and the ÜberChic Far East plate 01. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the stamping.

The Ghost Shift is no longer produced, but other Pahlish polishes are available on their own shop and at Overall Beauty.
