Don't Hesitate

Today I want t show you the Pahlish montly duo from march, Don't Hesitate (yes, I know it's october now...)





The base color is called Shadows Grow So Long and is a "Soft lavender cream with purple, lavender, and scattered iridescent charcoal flakes" (that's what Pahlish say about it). There are also golden flakes, Shannon forgot to mention them :-)

On my ring finger and thumb I dabbed one coat of the glitter topper Fireflies Under The Pines, a "Topcoat with satin lavender dots, lavender metallic glitter, and caramel metallic glitter accented by lavender-gold flake shimmer and iridescent purple hex" (this is the Pahlish description). Shannon also forgot to mention that some of the glitters are holographic. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Off The Scale

After quite some time of all other colors, it's time for me to return to my favorite one: blue

This is Girly Bits Off The Scale. Pam (the creator of Girly Bits) describes it as "a super sparkly glitter top coat that can be built up in three coats or layered in one coat over your favourite shade."
I decided to wear it alone, and as announced, three coats were enough for opacity. The bigger glitters are douchrome, shifting from blue to aqua, while the smaller ones seem to be "just" blue. As most of these small glitter polishes are, Off The Scale is quite topcoat thirsty. I used two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Comparison Metalight / Penny Talk

After the comparison of the two purple Contrary Polish last week, I wanted to show you another comparison between Catrice Metalight (I used it together with The Mellower Season) and Essie Penny Talk (used for example here and here). There are already a couple of comparisons of these two on various blogs, but it can't hurt to add another one, can it? ;-)

You can already see in the bottle shot that the Catrice is a mite darker and more pink leaning, while the Essie is a little more metallic.On the nails the difference almost disappears, they look very similar. I used Penny Talk on my ring and index finger, Metalight on the pinkie and middle. The finish of the Essie is a little more level. I used two coats each.

In the end I'd say you don't need both. I'd prefer the Essie, because of the formula, it's easier to apply and less streaky.

52 Week Challenge - 3 Color Gradient / Pink

For the second week of the 52 Week Challenge, the themes are 3 color gradient and/or pink. I used both themes in one mani.





I started with a plain white base (two coats of Essie Blanc). Using a fan brush and Kiko 245 (Pearly Dark Ruby), L'Oréal Chrome Shine 347 and 349 I added a gradient (yes, I know, the gradient is barely visible, but it's my blog, and when I say it's a gradient, then it is ;-)   ). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Comparison Contrary Polish

While wearing Contrary Polish's The Mellower Season, it reminded my of another Contrary Polish from a previous "A Box, Indied": Darling Wildflower of the may box.

In a direct comparison, these two are not at all dupes, but definitely related. Both polishes have a purple jelly base with redd-ish copper glitter. The Mellower Season has a darker base and the glitter is more dense. The glitter polishes have a copper color, while the glitters in Darling Wildflower are redder. 

I wear The Mellower Season on my pinkie and middle finger, Darling Wildflower on ring and index, three coats each, plus topcoat (KBShimmer Clearly On Top).

Sirene (Holo)

For today I want to show you another one of the ILNP multichrome holos: Sirene.

Sirene shifts from green over teal, blue and purple to magenta. I used three thin coats for opacity and added some leaves as an accent nails using black Essence stamping polish and MoYou Pro Collection plate 14. One coat of KBShimmer On Top was the last step of this mani.

White Frappucino

Today I have a new office appropriate mani to show you.





As base color I used Kleancolor Frappucino, a nude foil polish with orange and pink undertones. I used three coats for the pictures.

Using MoYou Pro Collection plate 14 and white Essence stamping polish I added a flower-y swirly pattern. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.
