Frida Stampwich

For today's mani I got inspired by various manis I've seen on blogs, like this one by Ashley Is Polishaddicted, this one by Pointless Cafe or this one by Adventures In Acetone.

As I'm not confident with my dotting skills, I decided to use my stamping tools and create a "stampwich".

For this mani I used Zoya Frida (NYFW Gloss Collection), a teal jelly, Essence stamping polish in white and Bundle Monster plate BM 10. I started with two coats of Frida, added the stamping, one coat of Frida, stamping, Frida, stamping, Frida, stamping, Frida and to finish one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer.

Frida was easy to apply, but as you can see, extremely sheer. I know, jelly polishes are supposed to be sheer, but Frida is almost too sheer to work with. If you counted with me, you know that I used six coats of Frida, and I still could clearly see my nail line. So in the future, I'll use Frida only in layerings, but not by itself.

    1. Thank you, Melissa! I really do love Frida's color, but it's way too sheer for me to wear it alone...

    1. freut mich, dass es dir gefällt. Du kannst ruhig auch einen Jelly nehmen, der nicht gar so sheer ist, dann brauchst du nicht so endlos viele Schichten wie ich ;-)

    1. I'm glad you like it, Nati! Drying time... Well, this mani took me three (yes, three) hours, so drying time definitely is an issue, and eacht coat took longer to dry than the one before...

  6. Love the stampwich!! What a twist to add for sandwich style! Great idea! Hahaha, true that jelly polishes are suppose to be sheer. Too sheer could be a problem as well when we hope it be buildable. Anyway, sheer polishes proves to be great to create/attempt those watercolour nail art without having to thin the colours out! :D So maybe you could tryout those styles with Frida or other sheer jelly polishes, if you haven't already! ;D

    1. Thank you! Watercolor nails would mean working freehand. I'm not sure if I'm ready for that yet ;-)
