Nail Crazies Unite: Galaxy/Aliens

Galaxy or aliens it the prompt for this week's challenge. I've always admired galaxy nails, but never tried them, so I guess, now it's the time. This is my first attempt ever, so please don't judge too harshly...

I started with two coats of Essence Black Is Back and added one thin coat of Catrice Have An Ice Day (Million Styles LE) for some holo sparkles. Then I cut a sponge in little peaces and sponged Essence Wild White Ways, Barry M. Indigo, Essie Cocktail Bling and a lilac Born Pretty Store stamping polish. For the stars I used the white Essence and a toothpick. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top made the mani shiny.

Prayers For Rain

Prayers For Rain is the name of today's polish. We haven't had any rain in the last couple of days here, but it's not so dry that rain would become a urgent need... (I'm sorry that my bottle looks a little disgusting, it somehow got all sticky and I didn't manage to remove all the fluff...)

Prayers For Rain has a teal jelly base (as usual, a little more green than my pictures show) filled with blue flakies, square and hex glitters. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Prayers For Rain is no longer produced, but other Pahlish polishes are available on their own shop and at Overall Beauty.

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Edelsteine

Gemstones is the last prompt for this round of the Frisch Lackiert challenge. Frisch Lackiert suggested to have a look at her rose quartz tutorial. I did and liked it so much, I tried a rose quartz mani for today.

The polishes I used are Essie Ballet Slippers (Queen Elizabeth II's favourite polish), a pale pink jelly, and white Born Pretty Store stamping polish. I first thought the Essie was too pale for this mani, but in the last picture I'm holding a piece of polished rose quartz and as you can see, my mani isn't too far off.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Graffiti

Graffiti is this week's challenge theme. I love good street art and usually take pictures if I see something I like, bot honestly, most graffitis are just one colored smudges done in a couple of seconds, right?! And since I'm not really an artist, I went with the kind of graffiti you see most (not the four letter words, though. OK, one four letter word, but a nice one...), not the one that really are pieces of art ;-)

As base I used three coats of Essence The Dawn Is Broken (Vampire's Love LE), a light grey with silver and black microglitters that looks a little like a concrete wall.

For the stampings I used MoYou London and Born Pretty Store stamping polishes and Bundle Monster plates 07, 09, 202, 209 and 418. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Hypnotic Amazon

Some matte flakies for today.

I started with three coats of OPI Amazon... Amaz-off, a teal leaning dark green creme.

Then I added one coat of Picture Polish Hypnotic, a clear flakie topper with two kinds of colorshifting flakies, some shifting from blue to teal, the others shifting from a greenish yellow to orange.

Then I mattefied the mani using Picture Polish G'Day Matte.

Picture Polish are available at  Harlow & Co., Pshiiit and their own shop (plus many more, here's a list of additional retailers).

Frisch Lackiert Challenge: Matt Metallic

Today, Frisch Lackiert wants to see matte metallic nails.

I started with three coats of Cult Nails Ms. Conduct, a dark chocolate brown creme. Over the base I stamped using Essie Penny Talk and MoYou London Flower Power Collection plate 12. For the matte finish I used Picture Polish G'Day Matte.

How much I love the combo of dark brown and rose or red gold, you can see in this picture with my Parker Premier :-)

Nail Crazies Unite: Lisa Frank Inspired

Today, the Nail Crazies Unite want so see a Lisa Frank inspired mani. Honestly, I had to google who Lisa Frank is, and basically, she is an artist using a lot of bright colors, glitter and cute animals. I can do that ;-) Ok, I admit, my mani looks nothing like Lisa Frank's art, but after the third try of getting the background just like I wanted, I lost my nerves and left it the way it was...

I used MoYou London Sweet Custard, Kiss The Frog and Surf's Up, Catrice Occult (Thrilling Me Softly Limited Edition) plus lilac Born Pretty Store stamping polish, applied with a stamper over a white base (two coats of Essence Wild White Ways). Then I added an iridescent glitter topper (Catrice Sky And Snow, Siberian Call Limited Edition) and stamped some cute owls using white Born Pretty Store stamping polish and Bundle Monster plate BM-309. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.
