Am I Not Yours?

Am I Not Yours? is today's polish, and it's by Happy Hands.

Am I not Yours has a medium grassy green jelly base filled with yellow, green, blue and teal hexes, some of them holographic, plus some teal squares. The base is very sheer, my pictures show three coats. If you want complete opacity with this one, I suggest to wear it over a green base. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave a smooth finish.

Happy Hands polishes retired, so other than blog sales, there's no way to get these anymore.

Golden Oldie Thursday - Lilac

Thursday! This week's theme is lilac, and my golden oldie is Happy Hands The Worst Is Over.

The Worst Is Over has a lilac jelly base with pink, purple and red (some of them holographic, that's the orange looking ones in my pictures) hexes in two sizes plus small blue squares. I used three coats and had no issues with application. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top provided a smooth finish.

For British Eyes Only

It's not thursday, but I have a "golden oldie" to show you nontheless, it's Happy Hands For British Eyes Only.

For British Eyes Only is "A teal jelly packed with satin & holographic teal glitter, it truly is love, indubitably."
(Source: Happy Hands)

The jelly base is very sheer, only with additional dabbing on the tips and thanks to the large amount of glitters I got it wearable (but not completely opaque) with three thick coats.  One coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer finished this mani.

Happy Hands closed their shop, their polishes are no longer available.

Lady Goodman

If you've been reading my blog for some time, you'll realise that today's polish is not a typical Aglaya-polish. But sometimes even I feel a little girly... ;-)

Kristi, the creator of Happy Hands polishes, describes Lady Goodman as "A soft lavender jelly with pink, gold, and purple glitter." I'd call the jelly base a soft pink, not lavender. The pink hexes and the purple squares are holographic and give the polish an extra sparkle.

Application was easy, I used three coats for opacity. I bought my bottle about a year ago, and it still has the old, stinky base. As far as I know, Kristi changed the base, so the never versions don't stink anymore (which is great, as the smell of the old ones really is aweful...)

Skylar Just Blue Herself

Blue's my favorite color and friday's my favorite work day (my favorite day of the week is saturday, btw), so that's a perfect combo :-)

As base color I used three coats of Zoya Skylar, a grey toned blue with golden glass fleck shimmer.

On top of Skylar, I dabbed one coar of Happy Hands I Just Blue Myslef, a clear base filled with royal blue hexes, squares and bars plus some blue holographic hexes.

I Just Blue Myself may look a little boring in the bottle, but once it's on the nails, there's a lot more going on than expected. Application was easy and I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat for a smooth finish.

Happy Hands polishes are sold on Etsy , at their own shop and at Harlow & Co. My bottle of I Just Blue Myself is an old version and no longer available, but there's a new version of it with even more sorts of blue glitters.

And now I'm going to spend a lot of money with all the awesome black friday offers. What about you?

Tricks Of Smoke And Ashes

Today's mani is another "boyfriend mani", where I let him choose the polishes.

My base color is China Glaze Smoke And Ashes (Capitol Colours Collection), a blackened polish with lots of emerald and blue glass fleck shimmer. Smoke And Ashes is very pigmented, I only used one coat and it was completely opaque. No need for a second coat with this one.

On top of Smoke And Ashes I added one coat of Happy Hands Tricks Are Things A Whore Does For Money... Or Candy, a clear base filled with small silver hexes, medium silver holographic hexes, gold squares and gold stars.

The glitters spread very easily, no dabbing needed. The gold stars weren't really "jumping ot of the bottle", but I got five of them on my nails. I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat, and the only glitters I could still feel were the stars.

Tricks... seems to be discontinued.

A Grey-t Afternoon Thunderstorm

Today I have two gorgeous shimmers to show you.

I started with Essence Grey-t To Be Here, a light gray polish filled with pink glass fleck shimmer. It was a little sheer, so I used three thicker coats for full opacity.

Then I added one coat of Happy Hands Afternoon Thunderstorms, "a stormy gray jelly with two sizes of black hexes and golden shimmer reminiscent of lightning strikes."
(Source: Happy Hands)

The golden shimmer is very prominent on this polish, and application was really easy. No dabbing, no dragging, no fishing for glitters. I finished with one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
