When Colours Collide: Chartreuse and Brown

Chartreuse and brown are this round's colors. I was quite sure I didn't own any chartreuse polishes. but luckily I went again through my untrieds and found one. One single chartreuse polish in my huge stash...

So here it is, my only chartreuse: Born Pretty Store Leisurely. I used three coats for opacity. 

My brown polish is Kicks Burning Desert. The stamping plate I used is ÜberChic ÜberMini Texture-licious 3. I added one coat of Bundle Monster Smudge Free Top Coat and, alas!, not my usual second coat of the KBShimmer, but Picture Polish G'Day Mate for a satin finish.

The 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Challenge is back, this week with the theme food.





As a swiss gal, the first thing that pops into my mind when thinking of food is, of course, chocolate. So I decided to go for a sugar spun chocolat mani like this one by Nails Always Polished. My "white chocolate" is OPI My Vampire Is Buff, my "milk chocolate" is Catrice Dulce & Havanna, and for "dark chocolate" is Kicks Burning Desert. There are lots of tutorials for supar spun nails on Youtube, if you're wondering how I did this.

Gobi Snake Bite

More fall colors to start this week.





I used Elevation Polish Gobi as base color, a golden linear holo with a lovely green shimmer. The pictures show three coats.





Kicks Snake Bite and Bundle Monster plate BM-608 were used for this wood pattern stamping, one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Golden Oldie Thursday - Brown

Today's the last Golden Oldie Thursday (next week a new challenge will start), and the very last GOT-theme is "brown".

My base color is Color Club Antiquated, a golden beige foil. I used three coats for opacity and had no issues with application (I did have some issues with clean up, though. You can still see the foil particles on my cuticles...).

I used Kicks Burning Desert and MoYou Pro Collection plate 03 for the stamping. Burning Desert is a redd-ish brown, almost maroon shimmer in the bottle, a somewhat grey-ed out brown in the thin stamping layer. Used as stamping polish it almost looks like walnut wood. One coat if KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Botanical Jewel

For today's mani I used two polishes by the swedish brand Kicks. I bought them during my trip to Oslo last august.

 


The base color is called Botanica, a light blue creme with grey and green undertones. I used two coats for opacity. I'm not 100 % sure, but I think this one was a little greener when I bought it almost a year ago...

 


Then I used Jewel Of Denial, a dark, shimmery teal, and Bundle Monster plate BM-212 to add this pattern. One coat of aEngland The Shield finished this mani.

Jewel Of Denial looks not really dark and quite blue in the thin stamped layer, but worn on its own with two coats, it's much darker and greener.
