Yps lackiert Challenge: Sternenglanz & When Colours Collide: holographic and black

Today I've got a "two birds with one stone" mani ( = two challenges with one mani) for you. Yps Lackiert asked for starshine for her last challenge theme, white the When Colours Collide prompt was holographic and black.

I started with two coats of Essence Black Is Back and stamped the stars using Color Club Harp On It and Pueen plate 44. One coat of Maniology Smudge Free Top Coat protected the stamping.

When Colours Collide: Black, silver & gold

Oh boy, I'm sooo behind wit my blogging. I got a ton of pictures I need to edit and blogposts to write. So let's start here, with black, silver and gold for the When Colors Collide round that ended almost two weeks ago...

This color combo screams NYE for me, but that would be way to early, so I went with autumn trees. Two coats of Essence Black Is Back as a base, Barry M. Silver Foil and Gold Foil as stamping polishes and a double stamping pattern on the ÜberChic Lovely Leaves plate. Add some topcoat and voilà.

Yps lackiert Challenge: Cozy

A new week, a new round of the Yps lackiert Challenge. The prompt is cozy, and this always means one thing for me: time for sweater nails!

I used two Maniology stamping polishes for this one. My base are two coats of Woolly, a mauve creme.

For the knitted pattern I used Mocha Java, a copper metallic (it turned out quite different than it looks in the bottle. That happens if you don't swatch a polish before using it for nail art), and MoYou London Fashionista Collection 02 plate. One coat of Maniology Smudge Free Top Coat protected the stamping, one coat of Picture Polish G'Day Matte provided a (semi) matte finish (somehow none of my matte topcoats really worked here, I tried three different ones...)

Yps lackiert Challenge: Poppies

Today's Rememberance Day in the UK and the Commonwealth, so poppies are today's challenge theme.

Rememberance Day is not celebrated where I live (in fact, today's marking the beginning of Carnival season...). No wonder, I'm Swiss and Switzerland has not been part of any war since 1847 (we had a short civil war called Sonderbundskrieg in November 1847). But that's no reason not to think about all the people who died in all the wars mankind started.

For my poppies, I used a color combo I already showed way back in 2012, so the two indie polishes I used are already seven years old (and still apply like butter)! The black based nails show two coats of Essence Black Is Back as base, plus one coat of Oopsie Daisies Tyranny, a black jelly base with red hex glitters. For my two accent nails I used two coats of aEngland Perceval as base and stamped a poppy using black Born Pretty Store stamping polish and L034 stamping plate. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished the mani.

Oopsie Daisies seem to be gone since 2014, but you can still get all aEngland polishes, including Perceval here.

Yps lackiert Challenge: Pünktchenparty

Pünktchenparty (dot party) is this week's theme for the Yps lackiert challenge.

For this mani I used MoYou London Purple Mouse and Alpine Rain plus some dotting tools. One coat of Purple Mouse as base and then just adding some dots, very quick and easy. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Yps lackiert Challenge: Spooky

With Halloween nearing, this week's prompt for the Yps lackiert Challenge was spooky.

I didn't feel to well last week (caught a cold), so my mani turned out simpler than I originally intended. As base I applied three coats of Born Pretty Store Misty Grey (Earth Tone Series), a grey leaning taupe creme.

Then I stamped on these lovely Dementors (any other Harry Potter fans here?) using black Born Pretty Store stamping polish and Mundo de Uñas Harry Potter 2 stamping plate. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top sealed the stamping.

Yps lackiert Challenge: Minimale Eleganz

It's time for the next round of Yps Lackiert with the theme minimal elegance.

This prompt came at the perfect time for me, since I recently had a business meeting where colorful nail polish wouldn't have been appropriate. So I applied three coats of P2 rich & royal, a taupe creme. Then I added a simple plaid pattern on my two accent nails using China Glaze Wood You Wanna? and ÜberChic Pretty In Plaid plate. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished the mani.

Starry Sky

Do you love starry skies as much as I do? If yes, this mani is for you.

I started with three coats of ILNP By Nightfall. ILNP call the color of this polish asphalt blue, a grey toned blue with very subtle teal undertones and scattered holo.

For the stars I used Essie Blue Rhapsody and Nicole Diary L-10 plate. As usual, I finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

ILNP polishes are available on Etsy, Hypnotic Polish, Harlow & Co. and at their own shop.
