26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Dry or drag marble

Dry or drag marble is this week's theme for the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas. Uh oh... As much as I love any kind of marbeled manis, as bad am I in creating one. So suffer with me by looking at this one... ;-)

My base color is Pretty Serious Blue Gums On Boxing Day, a green jelly polish with blue shimmer. I used three coats. For the dry marble accent nails, I painted two lines of MoYou London Sage Smoke on my ring and middle finger (over a still wet generous coat of the base color) and dragged a striping brush upwards and downwards to mix both polishes. After some drying time, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Flower Water Decals

Some blue flowers for today.

I combined the Born Pretty Store water decals with Pretty Serious Galaxy Invader, a foil polish shifting from blue to purple. I used three coats for opacity and applied the cedals over one coat of Essence Wild White Ways. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the decals.

Party By The Pool

It's not quite the perfect weather in Switzerland for a Party By The Pool, but hey, that's the name of today's polish (and if you live in the southern hemisphere, enjoy the summer)

Party By The Pool is by Pretty Serious, and it's a royal blue jelly with blue and green microglitter. I used three coats for opacity. For the french stamping I used Kiko 624 (Sky Blue) and Bundle Monster plate BM-17. One coat of Pahlish Magic Mirror Top Coat finished this mani.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Your Job

"Your job" is the theme for this week's challenge mani.





I work as a jurist/lawyer at a court of law. Since I've already done a book mani for this challenge (my job includes a lot of reading and writing), I decided to go for something very simple: clause signs. I used Pretty Serious Gargoyle Ganache as a base and L'Oréal Chrome Shine 348 and a nail art brush for the signs. As a finishing move, I added one coat of Pahlish Magic Mirror Top Coat.

A Box, Indied - Slavegirl Bikini

The next polish of the may "A Box, Indied" is called Slavegirl Bikini by Contrary Polish (who could ever forget the sight of Princess Leia in her golden bikini...)




Slavegirl Bikini is a classic red jelly with tiny golden holographic glitter particles. I used three coats on my ring finger, middle finger and thumb. On my other fingers I used three coats of Pretty Serious Turbo Boost, a dark purple, more or less black jelly with small red bar glitters (like the red light on KITTs front...). I also used Turbo Boost over Slavegirl Bikini for a french mani. As always, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top as a finishing step.

52 Week Challenge - 80s / 3 Dark Colors

This week's 52 Week Challenge themes are 80s and/or 3 dark colors. As always, I combined both in one mani.





The three dark colors I used as base in a skittlette form.

My thumb and pinkie show Catrice Hyde In The Park (Check & Tweed Limited Eition), a dark fir green with a nice shimmer. I used two coats for opacity.

On my index finger I used two coats of Essie Cashmere Bathrobe (For The Twill Of It Fall 2013 Collection), a dark grey with glass fleck shimmer.

My ring and middle finger show Pretty Serious Hot Summer Nights, a lovely midnight blue with silver microglitter. Hot Summer Nightsis very opaque, I only used one coat.

Then I added a Tetris stamping using Vivid Lacquer plate VL005and Barry M Silver Foil. Tetris still is one of my favorite video game, and being born in the 80s, of course I had a GameBoy (the big grey one with the yellow display, I still have it, somewhere...) and played it for hours...

Golden Oldie Thursday - Stripes

"Stripes" is the theme of this week's Golden Oldie Thursday.

 


I started with a base of China Glaze Fade Into Hue (Avant Garden Collection),a periwinkle colored creme. I used two medium coats for opacity and had no issues with application.

 


The I used straight nail vinyls and Pretty Serious Tux for the stripe pattern. Tux is a black polish with a duochrome shimmer shifting from blue to green. One coat of aEngland The Shield added some extra shine.
