Excuse Me, I Blurpled

Excuse Me, I Blurpled is the name of today's polish, and it's by KBShimmer.

Excuse Me, I Blurpled has a blurple (blue/purple) jelly base. The base is a little redder irl than my pictures show (these not quite blue shades are so hard to photograph...). The base is filled with pink and blue hex glitters. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

KBShimmer polishes are sold on their website (US only) and at Harlow & Co.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Inspiration

This week's 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge theme is inspiration.

I have to admit, I'm far less creative than I wish to be. Most of my inspiration for my manis I get from other nailbloggers. I follow a lot of blogs, and I couldn't name a single favorite. One I like a lot is the Nailasaurus, so I chose one of her tutorials for today's mani, her real white marble nail art. My result isn't as stunning as hers, but for a first try, I'm quite happy with the outcome. My polishes are P2 So Innocent (white), P2 Eternal (black) and Catrice London's Weather Forecast (grey). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the design.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - Mittelgrün

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is medium green.

My base color is Jessica Standing Ovation, a duochrome shimmer. Standing Ovation shifts from green over teal to blue, if you look at it in a straight angle it's just green, so I guess this fits the prompt ;-) I used three coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used MoYou London Back To The 20's plate 05 and P2 Eternal. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Born Pretty Store Cuticle Oil

Today I want to show you a cuticle oil Born Pretty Store offered me. Thank you so much, Born Pretty Store! (and yes, these are naked nails, eeeeek!)

I got rather dry cuticles, so using a cuticle oil on a daily basis is mandatory for me to keep my cutiles in shape. I've been using this oil for two weeks now, and it's not better or worse than other brands I tried. It comes in a square 10ml bottle and has the typical yellow oil color. It's not scented, so it doesn't really smell. I like scented products, but if your skin is sensitive, it's probably better to go without any added fragrances. Sadly, the ingredients are neither marked on the bottle nor the product page, so I can't tell you what's in it. If your skin is sensitive, I'd honestly suggest not to go with this one, but with a product you know what's in it. I didn't have any problems with it though, my skin agreed well with it.  It you want to try this cuticle oil, you can get it here for 3.64 a bottle.

I apply the oil every night with the brush of the bottle on my cuticles, let it sink a little and add hand cream over it. On the picture you see (or don't, a thin layer of oil is almost invisible) a thin layer of oil on my cuticles.

The cuticle oil offered for reviewing purposes. Again, thank you very much, Born Pretty Store!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Orange

Orange is this week's 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge color, my personal pattern prompt is tribal.

This one's really simple: three coats of Max Factor Bright Orange, a black stamping with P2 Eternal and MoYou London Tropical Collection plate 18, plus one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Black Orchid Stamped

Another stamped mani for today, and another ILNP polish :-)

My base color is ILNP Black Orchid. "Black Orchid is an absolutely gorgeous deep burgundy / purple holographic polish. It's simply stunning under any type of light, indoor or outdoor." (Source: ILNP) I used three thin coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used L'Oréal Chrome Shine 349 and Bundle Monster plate BM-XL206. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

ILNP polishes are available on Etsy and at their own shop.
