Fall Skittlette
Today I have another fall colored mani for you.
On my middle and ring finger I used three coats of Different Dimension It Rubs The Lotion On It's Skin (Halloween 2013 Collection), a blackened jelly base filled with lots and lots of small orange and gold glitters, that give the polish a orangey-brown look. The name is, of course, inspired by the movie Silence Of The Lambs. I used one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat for a smooth finish, but as my fellow swiss blogger Christine (Polished Marvels) suspected, this one tends to get "thirsty" after some time and kind of drinks up the topcoat. After my usual 24h of wearing the mani, the surface was still pretty smooth, but not completely. So one coat of topcoat is absolutely enough for one day, if you want to wear it longer, you might need to add another coat after a day or two.
On my other fingers I applied two medium coats of Kleancolor Coffee Addict, a polish that reminds me more of olives than of coffe. It's a brown/gold/green shimmer. As I already mentioned the last time I used a Kleancolor polish, the formula is not the best. The polish stinks and dries very slowly, and the formula is on the thick side. This time the brush was pretty wonky, too, so I had a hard time to apply Coffee Addict.
On my thumb and pinkie, I added a stamping with Messy Mansion plate MM16 and Essence Steel-Ing The Scene (Metal Glam Trend Edition), a copper metallic polish that looks more gold than copper over Coffee Addict. I used one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top on all the other nails as well.
Different Dimension polishes can be found on Etsy, at Mei Mei's Signatures or at Llarowe. I bought mine at Llarowe.

Du hast immer so schöne Stampings!
ReplyDeleteVielen Dank, ich stampe auch gerne, da das eine der wenigen Techniken ist, die auch bei mir gut rauskommt ;-)
DeleteCoucou,
ReplyDeleteCe skittlette est absolument magnifique.
Merci beaucoup, Catherine :-)
DeleteOh this is one darn pretty polish for sure - if only the name wouldn't be so endless……. and thank you for your kind reference. "Oh je" - one of those always hungry polishes - it would have been so nice if I would have been wrong ;-P. And love your stamping <3
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine. The topcoat hunger of irtlois (what a short name :-P) isn't too bad, it feels a little like a textured polish after one day (and I rarely wear polishes for longer than a day, so I didn't really mind)
DeleteVery pretty :).
ReplyDeleteThank you, Deborah <3
