A Box, Indied - Harvest Hayride
Today's polish is the last of the november A Box, Indied: Freak Show Polish Harvest Hayride.
Harvest Hayride has a blue base that looks vibrant royal blue in the bottle, but dries significantly darker, almost navy. It contains tiny silver hexes, red, pink and silver shards and copper bars. Harvest Hayride dries to a matte, pretty gritty finish. As the glitters tend to sink down (when I took the bottle out of the box, I thought it was a simple blue cream, only after examining the bottle a little closer, I saw the glitter stuck to the bottom of the bottle), I positioned the bottle upside down for about half an hour and gave it a good shake afterwards, and with that I had no problem with application or glitter dispersal. Harvest Hayride is very well pigmented, I used two coats for this look - if you use thick coats and have short nails, you might get along with one. But contrary to my fear, Harvest Hayride does not stain, my nails were all clear after removal.
As I didn't like the matte finish too much, I added one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top topcoat. The ends of some of the bar glitters and bigger shards refused to lay flat on the nail and still stuck up through the two layers of topcoat, but other than that, the surface was pretty smooth.
Freak Show Polish is available at their own store (US only) and at Big City Nails. Harvest Hayride is exclusive to the november "A Box, Indied". The box with five polishes is available at Llarowe as a one month only box or as subscription (50$ per box).

DeleteI like it better with the glossy top coat as well. Plus it indeed smoothens the surface a bit, because in the first few pics it looks quite rough and irregular. Anyway, lovely nail polish, I quite like it!
ReplyDeleteIt really was very rough without the topcoat, I really can't recommend wearing it without...
