The Ghost Of Jupiter
Last year, I was all into square glitter, this year it's round/dot/circle glitter. Today's polish is full of it: Smitten Polish The Ghost Of Jupiter.
The Ghost Of Jupiter has a "dark blue jelly base packed with gold, silver and navy blue dot glitter, plus super fine holo glitter and shimmer."
(Source: Smitten Polish)
Application was easy, all glitters came out of the bottle willingly, only the biggest one needed a little placing. The Ghost Of Jupiter is highly pigmented, I needed only two coats for full opacity. But... well yes, there's a but: The Ghost Of Jupiter dries really gritty. And I mean really really gritty. You see the bumpy surface in my pictures? That's after I added one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. So if you want a really smooth surface, you'll probably going to need at least three coats of topcoat.
Smitten Polish are sold on Etsy and at Llarowe.

Too bad it gets so gritty, because waw, I just love how it looks! It actually looks lika galaxy full of planets and stars, gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks really awesome. The grittyness (is that a word?) really is the only downside of this polish.
DeleteI think I'd put up with the grit to look at that stuff...it's gorgeous! I love circle glitter. :)
ReplyDeleteMe, too :-)
DeleteI'm sure with a third layer of topcoat it would look and feel pretty smooth.
This is so pretty! I really do want it, but I didn't realize it would dry so gritty. Oh well! I'm sure I could live with it.
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned im my reply to, well, the other Melissa :-), with three coats of topcoat you should get a smooth surface. And the polish itself needs only two coats. So it's not ideal, but manageable.
DeleteAwesome!!!! And I am so with Melissa - who cares for grittiness when the polish is so gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Christine! Just use enough topcoat, then you can really enjoy the beauty :-)
DeleteThe polish is gorgeous but way too topcoat hungry. I thought you were showing us the non-tc photographs till the end. That was a shocker!
ReplyDeleteThe bumpy-ness really is the only downside on this polish, but it is a pretty obvious one...
