Today's mani is based on a classic Essie polish. The Essie fans among you certainly already know after reading the blog post title which one it is :-)
Of course it's Mint Candy Apple, a light blue-green creme. I wouldn't really call this color mint, it's more blue than green, I'd say it's a light aqua. Formula was good, but a little on the sheer side. I used three coats for complete opacity. It doesn't dry really glossy, but more to a satin finish.
On top of Mint Candy Apple I added one coat of Femme Fatale Hydraxia, "a sheer jelly base of deep sea green full of multiple teal, turquoise, ocean blue, bright blue and soft flecks of yellow in various shapes and sizes."

Application was easy (although Mint Candy Apple wasn't the perfect base color choice, I admit. I should have used a darker base, it looked a little streaky that way), but sadly the bigger turquoise hexes tend to curl, and it's not only reflective curling. After I added one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dry, I couldn't really feel the curled glitters anymore, so I didn't mind too much, but I know that some of you do.
wie hübsch der Topcoat aussieht *_* passt toll zu dieser Farbe!
ReplyDeleteVielen lieben Dank. Ich liebe ja diese Türkis/Petroltöne :-)
DeleteI don't like the tinted base in this one, makes it so much harder to combine! Because in theory the base you choose would have been awesome :(.
ReplyDeleteI would have preferred it with a clear base, too. The tinted base is too sheer to build it up on it's own (even if I've read on other blogs they wore it alone with three or fout coats), so you have to layer it, and you can only use a darker color as base or you can see the tinted base (as you can see in my pictures)...
