Your Mother Is A Hit!

I just realised it has been ages since I showed you my last purple mani, so it's time for another one (even if I think it's a little boring. I guess I'm just spoiled by the complex indie glitter toppers I use...).

My base color for today's mani is Catrice How I Matt Your Mother (discontinued), a dark, matte purple. Two coats were enough for opacity.

On top of How I Matt Your Mother I dabbed one coat of Color Club It's A Hit! (Backstage Pass Collection), a clear base with uniform purple hexes.

Application of It's A Hit! was a little tricky, the hexes stuck together and didn't want to spread over the nails. For a smooth finish I added one coat of NailPattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer.

  1. Haha oh my we are becoming very picky about our glitters, no? Those indies just spiral our expectations up ;-)! However I really like your many and this glitter allows the beautiful purple of the Catrice base some more room on stage - great combination and great photos!!

    1. I guess, the more polishes you try, the higher your expectations get, because you know what awesomeness is possible, not only with glitters, but with the whole range. I'm glad you still like it :-)

  2. Ohh, hahahaha! I totally get the boring part. I have similar ones, one blue one rosy pink - just one size hexes. And I hardly put them to any use. Still I do find them helpful to create unique look by topping over other glitter polishes just to add that bit of colour or so. So in a way, it's still a helpful polish in stash :3 Btw, I think it's really a unique purplish pink glitter topper! :D

    1. I'd say every polish in my stash is unique in one way or another. Of course my non-polish-addicted friends would tell otherwise ("why do you own 20 bottles of the same polish?" "they're not the same, they're only similar") ;-)
