Dancing Green
As soon as I read the name of today's polish, I couldn't stop humming ABBA *See that girl, watch that scene, diggin' the dancing queen*
Usually, I'm not at all into pop music, but I love ABBA, I think I inherited that from my mum :-)
As base color I used Catrice Planet Tokyo (Neo Geisha Limited Edition), a bright, vibrant grass green. I would even call it frog green, it has exactly the same color as Kermit. I used two coats for this mani, but they were still a little translucent. If I wanted to wear Planet Tokyo alone, I would have added a third.
Then I added two coats of KBShimmer The Dancing Green. "The Dancing Green is a bright green polish with a blue undertone. This polish features fuchsia square glitters, chartreuse dots, sapphire hex glitters and fuchsia dots. A subtle micro shimmer completes this emerald colored polish."

Well, I don't completely agree with this official description. At first I even wanted to disagree with the blue undertone and call it warm, yellow. But then I realised even if I can't see any blue, the green leans cold, so I guess blue undertones it is. But I couldn't find any micro shimmer, the base is completely un-shimmery. But there is gold micro glitter, maybe that's what KBShimmer considers as shimmer.
Application of The Dancing Green was easy and I finished the mani with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer. I admit, this really vibrant shade of green isn't the best color for my skin tone, but is there anyone who only wears perfect colors?
KBShimmer polishes are sold on their website (US only) and at Harlow & Co.
Very beautiful!!! And I was SOOOO into Abba when I was a kid - and while I don't listen any pop anymore I still like them too :-). When I applied Dancing Green first my thoughts were the same about the shimmer - LOL! You picked the perfect base to really make the contrast between the glitter and the green pop!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it, Christine!
DeleteYay, another (at least former) ABBA fan. I still listen to it (as I mentioned the only pop music I listen to. Well, ok, Michael Jackson had some awesome songs, too) and I sometimes (like every other year) even visit concerts of ABBA cover bands with my partents. It's just too cute to see my 65y mum party like a teenager ;-)
This is so cute! And I was an ABBA addict when I was a kid, and I've never broken the addiction. My sister and I would totally pretend to be Agnetha and Frida as we sang into our hairbrushes in front of the mirror. :D
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I bought myself the ABBA edition of the "Sing Star" game for Playstation 2, so I can karaoke a lot of ABBA songs whenever I want (but I do it without plateau boots) ;-)
DeletePlateau boots, singing into hairbrushes, cover bands - haha I so enjoy this - and I went to some cover band concerts too and Mark and I used to sing along those songs so often when we were in the car, this is the special thing with ABBA - they were around and still are for so many years and are connected to so many fun memories :-D
DeleteAnd they connect generations, too. On these concerts you see 80y. old grandparents with their grandchildren (or even great-grandchildren) enjoying the music, that's just awesome :-)
DeleteI love how BRIGHT that green is! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's really really bright, almost blinding :-)
DeleteLove this! I definitely need to get a bottle.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it. Luckily, KBShimmers are pretty easy to get, as they don't get discontinued too soon, if you miss a restock, you can easily wait for the next.
DeleteAs a Swede I'm immensely proud over ABBA :) and it's great to hear that people still like them! As a florist I've actually sold flowers to Agnetha - twice! :) Here in Stockholm we have just opened a fantastic Abba museum! Very welcome! :)
ReplyDeleteBut enough about ABBA ;) This polish looks great! A fun blend and perfect over Planet Tokyo!
You met Agnetha? How cool! And if there's a ABBA museum, it means I have to re-visit Stockholm one day. I was there a couple of years ago, but too early, it seems :-)
DeleteAnd of course I'm glad you like the polish :-)
Beautiful combo, makes it so bright!
ReplyDeleteThank you Deborah, it really IS bright :-)
Deletesehr schön :)
