Stone Riot

I haven't shown you any "work wear" in quite some time, so let's change that!

The two polishes I used are from the Essence Be Loud Limited Edition. As base color I used Like A Stone In The Wall, a muddy, slightly green toned beige. I used three thin coats for opacity.

My stamping color is called Riot Grrr-een, a dark olive creme. The stamping plate I used is Pueen 85. One coat of Pahlish Magic Mirror Top Coat secured the stamping and gave the mani some extra shine.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Cartoons&Comics

Cartoons and comics are this week's challenge theme. Can you guess what my choice was?

For this mani I used four polishes: P2 Eternal (black), Catrice Earnie&Birdie (yellow), Catrice Rockby (red) and Max Factor Bright Orange (duh). The stamping plates I used are Bundle Monster BM-223 and BM-411. I finished with one coat of Pahlish Magic Mirror Top Coat.

Have you recognised the comic? It's Calvin and Hobbes!

Rockby Frankincense

A month until Christmas, so the time comes for red and gold combos :-)

My base color is Catrice Rockby (Matchpoint Limited Edition), a cherry red creme. I used three coats for opacity. Rockby dries really glossy, the picture shows it without topcoat.

The glitter topper is called You're Not Making Any Frankincense, it's by Different Dimension. It's a clear based topper filled with gold and gold holographic glitters in hexes, squares and dots. I dabbed on one coat. The topper dries somewhat gritty, so I added one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Pahlish Magic Mirror Top Coat for a smooth finish.

Different Dimension polishes can be found on Etsy and at Mei Mei's Signatures.

Icebraker Dare

We had the first snow this weekend, so it's the perfect time to show you this wintery combo.

As base color I used Essence Icebraker (Ice Ice Baby Limited Edition), a cerulean blue polish with pink shimmer. This one is very sheer, I used three coats but the polish still wasn't opaque...

The glitter topper is Dollish Polish I Triple Dog Dare Ya!, a clear base filled with silver holographic glitters in various forms, bars, hexes and irregular shards. I dabbed on one coat and finished woth one coat of Pahlish Magic Mirror Top Coat.

Dollish Polish are available at their store and at Overall Beauty.

Born Pretty Store Water Decals

Today I want to show you these lovely full nail water decals Born Pretty Store sent me for reviewing purposes, thank you so much! (I forgot to take pictures of the decals before applying them, sorry about that)

I started with a white base, two coats of Essie Blanc. Application of the decals was quite easy: just remove the transparent protection foil, soak the decals in warm water for 20-30 seconds, remove the white sheet underneath and place them on your wet nails. It's really important to wet your nails with water, if you don't, you'll probably tear the decals. You can move the decals around on your wet nails until you're happy with the placement. Then dab the water off with some tissue and add topcoat. Since the decals are rectangular and my nails aren't, I folded the excess over me free edge and filed it off after the topcoat was dry. The edges on my cuticles I could remove with acetone.

You can get the water decals here for only 1.92$. There are four different patterns/colors to choose from, I'm wearing C134.

For more nail art items, check out Born Pretty Store (use the code below for a 10% discount)

The water decals were offered for reviewing purposes. Again, thank you very much, Born Pretty Store!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Grey&Color

Grey & Color is this week's color prompt, and my personal pattern prompt is mosaic/stained glass.

The base color I used is H&M Wintersky, a grey based polish with duochrome shimmer shifting from green to pink. Wintersky reminds me of a nail polish version of MAC Vex. I know it looks more purple in the pictures, but it really is a grey base.

For the stained glass accent nails, I used three Nfu Oh jelly polishes (JS27, JS30, JS34) and Love, Angeline nail vinyls. One coat of Pahlish Magic Mirror Top Coat finished this mani.

Iris My Case

Iris My Case is the name of today's polish, and it's by KBShimmer.

"Iris, Lilacs, Violets are some of of the most beloved flowers  come spring, this pastel violet colored polish was inspired by all three.   The soft purple base is filled with glitters in pink, purple, white, periwinkle  and blue. If you are not a fan of large glitters, this polish is for you." (Source: KBShimmer) I used three coats and added one coat of Pahlish Magic Mirror Top Coat.

KBShimmer polishes are sold on their website (US only) and at Harlow & Co.

Heart of Flames

Heart Of Flames by GlimmerbyErica is the polish I want to show you today.

Heart of Flames has a black jelly base and is filled with red and orange hex glitters. The base is quite sheer at the first coat but builds up nicely, and thanks to the high glitter density, I only used two coats for the pictures. The polish dries rather gritty, so I added one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Glimmer by Erica polishes are available on Etsy.
