Golden Oldie Thursday - Purple

It's time for the next round of Golden Oldie Thursday, this week with the theme "purple".

I used Aphrodite Lacquers Love Is Lost, a cool toned purple jelly with silver-y white hex and square glitter plus some silver holographic hexes. My camera really really hated this color and I couldn't get any accurate pictures of the color, so I tried to edit them a little (honestly, a lot), that's why my skin color looks so funky. The last picture was taken with my cell phone, it's the most color accurate.

Sadly, I wasn't pleased at all with the formula. The jelly base is very sheer and thin, three coats weren't enough for opacity. Only very thin coats stay where they should, on some nails my coats were a little thicker and the polish just slid to the edges of my nails (you can see it on my middle finger, where all the polish assembled on the tip). I finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Aphrodite Lacquers doesn't exist anymore, so sadly, there's no way to get this one, other than blog sales.

  1. This would be such a lovely polish - I love some purple this summer - I hate it if the polish comes with an attitude to go where it wants - what a pity, else it is amazeballs!! xxx

  3. The glitter is probably a bit too big for my liking, but I do like the overall look.

    1. In my pictures, it looks a little better than irl, it was quite patchy, due to the sheerness. Too bad, it might have been an awesome polish...

  4. I'm not a fan of the sheerness but I think it's still pretty.
