Green and Copper Skittles

Stephanie from Sincerely Stephanie is hosting a skittles manicure contest (here), and this is my entry:

I've already shown some manis that could count as skittles, in the sense that I used five different polishes. But I wanted to do something a little more sophisticated for the contest, so I decided to use only two polishes, but five different techniques.

My base color is Butter London Two Fingered Salute (three coats), a gorgeous blueish muted sage green polish with copper glitter. The green is exactly the same color as bronze statues, so I added a picture of Miss Liberty for comparison ;-). I've been lemming this polish for a pretty long time until I found a retailer who ships to Switzerland (Pshiiit). I'm so in love ;-)

On my middle finger I used two coats of Essie Penny Talk (Mirror Metallics Collection), a light copper foil like a brand new, shiny penny. This polish mirrors exactly the color of the glitter in Two Fingered Salute (at least IRL, in the pictures they look slightly different).

My thumb shows a gradient with Penny Talk at the cuticle and Two Fingered Salute at the tip.

On my index I added some dots with Penny Talk and a dotting tool.

On my middle finger I used striping tape and a thick coat of Two Fingered Salute.

I stamped my ring finger with Penny Talk and Bundle Monster plate BM-204.

On my pinkie finger I added some Penny Talk using the saran wrap method, but not with saran wrap but with a paper towel.

I finished this many with one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer.

  3. I love the mix of techniques, looks great in two colors. Copper goes so well with this type of green. Good luck in the contest! :)
