Swanbourne

Ok, next attempt to a glitter gradient!

My base color is Cult Nails Swanbourne (Let's Get Nekkid Collection), three coats. "The darkest of the “nekkids”, Swanbourne is a deep, alluring brown crème laced with flashes of golden shimmer which bring this color to life."
(Source: Cult Nails)

On top of Swanbourne, I added several thin coats of ILoveNP Ginger Spice Latte, a clear base filled with copper, gold and caramel glitter, to create a gradient.

I finished with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one Coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer.

Cult Nails Polishes are sold at their own shop and at Overall Beauty. Swanbourne is only available at the Cult Nails shop in the Last Chance Deals section, so if you want it, better be quick!

ILoveNP polishes can be found on Etsy.

Simplicity

Today I have an Australian Indie polish to show you: Emily de Molly Simplicity.

Simplicity has a light, slightly dusty lilac jelly base with different sized white hex glitters and tiny iridescent glitters. You can't see the iridenscent glitters on my nails, but they were there. You can see the tiny multicolored dots in the bottle shot, these are the iridescent glitters.

The white glitters weren't too easy to work with, on some nails were hardly any, others were packed. So I had to place some of the glitters on other nails to create a more or less even look. I used four coats of Simplicity to completely hide my nail line, as the jelly base is pretty sheer.

I finished with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer (I added some polish thinner right before using it and gave it a vigorous shake. That's my excuse for the extreme bubbling).

Emily de Molly polishes are available at Llarowe. There's also an Etsy shop, but it delivers to Australia only.

Green and Copper Skittles

Stephanie from Sincerely Stephanie is hosting a skittles manicure contest (here), and this is my entry:

I've already shown some manis that could count as skittles, in the sense that I used five different polishes. But I wanted to do something a little more sophisticated for the contest, so I decided to use only two polishes, but five different techniques.

My base color is Butter London Two Fingered Salute (three coats), a gorgeous blueish muted sage green polish with copper glitter. The green is exactly the same color as bronze statues, so I added a picture of Miss Liberty for comparison ;-). I've been lemming this polish for a pretty long time until I found a retailer who ships to Switzerland (Pshiiit). I'm so in love ;-)

On my middle finger I used two coats of Essie Penny Talk (Mirror Metallics Collection), a light copper foil like a brand new, shiny penny. This polish mirrors exactly the color of the glitter in Two Fingered Salute (at least IRL, in the pictures they look slightly different).

My thumb shows a gradient with Penny Talk at the cuticle and Two Fingered Salute at the tip.

On my index I added some dots with Penny Talk and a dotting tool.

On my middle finger I used striping tape and a thick coat of Two Fingered Salute.

I stamped my ring finger with Penny Talk and Bundle Monster plate BM-204.

On my pinkie finger I added some Penny Talk using the saran wrap method, but not with saran wrap but with a paper towel.

I finished this many with one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer.

Jindie Nails Silent Night

I've already showed you Happy Hands Silent Night here, now this is Jindie Nails Silent Night.

Silent Night is part of the Santa Claws Collection. "This one's a deep royal blue true jelly with a purple shimmer to the base, holographic stars and moons and other various shapes of holo and iridescent glitters. "
(Source: Jindie Nails)

Silent Night is surprisingly well pigmented. I expected to use three to four coats, as I normally do with jelly polishes. But Silent Night was completely opaque with only two coats! I did use pretty thick coats though, as the jelly base is very thick, leaning on goopy. Next time I'll probably add some thinner for an easier application.

The moons came easily out of the bottle, no fishing needed. I had some stars in the first layer, but as this polish is so opaque, the second layer covered them.

Silent Night has a pretty smooth surface (for a glitter polish), so I only used one coat of Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer to finish.

Jindie Nails polishes are available on Etsy and at Llarowe.

Yo-ho Yo-ho, A Pirate's Life For Me

Yo-ho Yo-ho, A Pirate's Life For Me! That's not me singing, but the name of this polish by Dollish Polish.

"Drink up me 'earties, yo-ho! Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for me! Inspired by both the movie and the Disney ride, Pirates Of The Carribean, this Rum Red jelly is chock full of multi-sized hexagon glitters in Gold, Silver, Navy, and Maroon making one beautiful polish worth digging in yer bootie mates!"
(Source: Dollish Dolish shop)

I had no application issues with this one, and it dried rather fast. I finished with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Dollish Polish are available at their store, at Llarowe and at Overall Beauty.
