Mermaiday Mayday

If you live in the US or Canada, you're probably freezing. It's not really cold here in Switzerland, just about zero degrees (celsius, not fahrenheit), but it clearly is winter. So I have an "icy" mani to show you today.

Some time (or well, some years) ago, Catrice released a limited edition called Le Grand Bleu, and with it the glitter polish Mermaiday Mayday. It has a very sheer light blue base, so sheer it almost looks clear on the nails. It's filled with silver holographic hexes in two sizes. There's no way you could ever get this one opaque, so I layered it over a light blue creme (three coats of Essie Find Me an Oasis). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top provided a smooth finish. 

On the Wings of Eagles

Another taupe mani this week, but a completely different kind of taupe...

My base are three coats of Colors By Llarowe's On the Wings of Eagles, a taupe polish with color shifting shimmer particles, that flop between pink and gold.

For the stamping I used Kiko Mirror Lacquer 617 (Taupe) and ÜberChic Happy Christmas plate. I protected the stamping with one coat of Bundle Monster Smudge Free Top Coat and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Taupe Ibiza Mix

Some glitter for today.

I didn't feel like a full of glitter mani, so I sponged a glitter gradient (well, tried to attempt a gradient, anyways...). My base is Artdeco 116, a brown leaning taupe creme. Model's Own's Ibiza Mix is a clear based glitter topper with hex glitters in pastel colors (the colors look more vivid in my pictures than they are irl), gold, blue, pink and silver, in two sizes.

When Colours Collide: Pink, purple and blue

Pink, purple and blue are the colors of this round.

I went with watercolor nails, just dabbing some Essie Silk Watercolor polishes (Blush Stroke, No Shrinking Violet and Point Of Blue) over a white base (two coats of Essence Wild White Ways). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished the mani (and provided some bubbles...)

La Belle Endormie

La Belle Endormie is today's polish by Pahlish.





La Belle Endormie is a deep plum with golden sheen and golden flakies. I used three thin coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used Barry M. Gold Foil and MoYou London Crystal Collection plate 02. Somehow, the gold polish looks more like a pale pink over the dark base. I can't explain it, because the gold is quite opaque, but I still like the outcome. I applied one coat of Bundle Monster Smidge Free Top Coat and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

I Threw My Pie For You

Let's start the week with a gorgeous indie polish.

This beauty is Dollish Polish I Threw My Pie For You, a purple jelly base filled with hex, square and dot glitter in various shades of purple, some of them holographic. Since the jelly base is very sheer, I layered it over a dark plum base (two coats of OPI Honk If You Love OPI). To smoothen the finish, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Dollish Polish are available at their store. But careful, if you're a geek like me, and tend to buy polishes because they're named after your favorite movie or TV show, this shop is seriously dangerous for your wallet...

Rockin' My JuJu

Blue and silver are the colors for this mani.

I started with three coats of Colors By Llarowe Rockin' My Juju, a midnight blue holo with a subtle shift to purple.

For the stamping I used a England Encore Margot and ÜberChic Geek Love 01 plate. I secured the stamping with one coat of Bundle Monster Smudge Free Top Coat and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Bewitched Snowflakes

It's time for another round of snowflakes!

I started with three coats of Picture Polish Bewitch, a lovely chocolate brown with gold shimmer and scattered holo sparkles.

The snowflakes I stamped with Barry M. Gold Foil and ÜberChic Happy Christmas plate. One coat of Bundle Monster Smudge Free Top Coat protected the stamping while one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani some extra shine.
