Lacke in Farbe und bunt - silber

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is silver.





My silver polish is Different Dimension Ghost of Jupiter. It's a clear base filled with myriads of tiny silver holographic hex glitters. You can wear it as glitter topper or alone, as I did. With the three coats I used it's not 100% opaque, but wearable.

For the stamping I used MoYou London Black Knight and Moyra stamping plate 03 (ornaments). Ghost of Jupiter is quite topcoat-thirsty. I used one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top before and one after the stamping, and the surface still wasn't completely smooth.

Wickerman Embers

Today's polish is Wickerman Embers from Femme Fatale's Halloween 2013 Collection (I guess this means this one has been sitting with my untrieds for almost four years now...)






Wickerman Embers has a cherry red jelly base filled with a myriad of glitters in black, red, pink, copper and gold, hexes, bars and even little stars, plus some red microglitter. The jelly base is very sheer, thanks to the glitters it was wearable with three coats, but still nowhere from opaque. If you're heading for a completely opaque look, better wear a creme polish as undies... The polish dries very gritty, I added two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top, but it still didn't feel completely smooth.

Lilac, pink and gold are the colors for this week's 26 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge mani.





I went with a dusky pastel lilac and pink gradient (Essie Bangle Jangle and Lady Like over white) and a gold stamping (Barry M. Gold Foil and MoYou London Arabesque Collection plate 08). As usual, I finished with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

My polish is Dollish Polish I Volounteer As Tribute (named after "the girl on fire" Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games films and books), a black jelly base filled with gold, orange and red hex glitters in two sizes plus gold flakie-microglitter. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Blue Addicted

Today's polish is Essence Blue Addicted.






Blue Addicted has a dark blue jelly base with aqua and green hex glitters and blue microglitter. My bottle is quite old, they haven't used this design for years now, so the three coats I used dried quite gritty and the polis was somewhat gloopy (You can see in the bottle shot, that about one third of the poish is gone, but I've only used it once. A lot of it must have evaporated over the years). I can't promise it, but I guess a newer bottle might be smoother. I added two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top provided a smooth finish.

Nail Crazies Unite: Delicate Print

Delicate Print is this week's challenge theme. If you've been reading my blog for some time now, you might know that I really like delicate stampings, so this prompt felt like a home game ;-)





My base color is Cadillacquer She's One Of A Kind, a light blue polish with a strong copper shimmer. I used three thin coats for opacity.








For the stamping I used aEngland Tristam and MoYou London Suki Collection plate 07. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

I Got Distracted

I Got Distracted by Cult Nails is today's polish.






I Got Distracted has a black jelly base filled with silver holographic microglitters and small green hex glitters. I used three coats for opacity. I Got Distracted doesn't dry really gritty, but it "drinks" topcoat like a camel drinks water after a ten day hike through the desert. I added two coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top, but after both coats the polish felt kind of textures, as soon as the topcoat was completely dry. So after two coats I gave up and just lived with the textured surface...
