Golden Oldie Thursday - Glitter Topper

This week's Golden Oldie Thursday theme's glitter topper. If you're following my blog, you know that I own a vast amount of glitter toppers, so choosing wasn't too easy :-)

My choice fell to CrowsToes Gomez, a typical CrowsToes glitter bomb filled with blue, silver, gold, purple and black hexes (plus some black bars, that are almost invisible over the dark base).

As base color I used Essie Midnight Cami. Gomez dries quite gritty, due to the huge amount of glitters, so I added one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish. If you take a look at my blog header, you can see Gomez right in the middle of the picture, I owned it since before I started blogging, a real golden oldie :-)

Crows Toes polishes are available at Llarowe and Overall Beauty.

Botanical Jewel

For today's mani I used two polishes by the swedish brand Kicks. I bought them during my trip to Oslo last august.

The base color is called Botanica, a light blue creme with grey and green undertones. I used two coats for opacity. I'm not 100 % sure, but I think this one was a little greener when I bought it almost a year ago...

Then I used Jewel Of Denial, a dark, shimmery teal, and Bundle Monster plate BM-212 to add this pattern. One coat of aEngland The Shield finished this mani.

Jewel Of Denial looks not really dark and quite blue in the thin stamped layer, but worn on its own with two coats, it's much darker and greener.

A Box, Indied - Bright Lights, Small City

The last of this month's "A Box, Indied" polishes is Contrary Polish Bright Lights, Small City.

Bright Lights, Small City is a vivid royal blue, indigo leaning jelly with orange, purple and blue flakie shimmer. I used three thin coats and added some Born Pretty Store studs. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top held them in place.

Bright Lights, Small City has a similar concept as Bright Night (shown here), but the base color is a little lighter and the flakie shimmer is different. Bright Nights only uses shades of blue and green.

Contrary Polish are available at Llarowe, Femme Fatale, Mei Mei's SignaturesNorway Nails and Rainbow Connection (UK only). Bright Lights, Small City was exclusive to the july "A Box, Indied". The box with five indie polishes is available at Llarowe as a one month only box or as subscription (50$ per box).

A Box, Indied - Freaks At The Fair

For the fourth "A Box, Indied" day of this month I have Jindie Nails Freaks At The Fair to show you.

Freaks At The Fair has a mint green crelly base with lots of multicolored hexes, squares and dots, some of them holographic, plus some holographic microglitter. The bigger glitters were a little stubborn, I didn't get too many out of the bottle. Especially the big white squares refused completely. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top formed the last layer.

Jindie Nails polishes are available on Etsy and at Llarowe. Freaks At The Fair isexclusive to the july "A Box, Indied". The box with five products is available at Llarowe as a one month only box or as subscription (50$ per box).

A Box, Indied - This Ring Toss Is RIGGED

The third polish of the july "A Box, Indied" is Dollish Polish This Ring Toss Is RIGGED!

I've seen my fellow swiss blogger Polished Marvels wearing this one over black, and it looked gorgeous! Inspired by her, I wanted to wear it over a dark color, too, without copying her directly, so I chose a dark grey. Essence Moonless Night (Dark Romance LE) is a slightly blue toned anthracite grey that dries to a matte finish (Essence calls this finish "suede", but it's not textured). I used two coats for opacity. If you own this one, better double up on basecoat, this one's a stainer!

Then I dabbed on one coat of This Ring Toss Is RIGGED!, a clear based glitter topper with hexes, squares, dots and donut glitter (my first polish with this form of glitter) in yellow, blue, white and red.

The big donuts where a little stubborn, it took some fishing to get them out of the bottle. One coat of KBShimmer clearly on top provided a smooth finish.

Dollish Polish are available at their store, at Llarowe and at Overall Beauty. This Ring Toss Is RIGGED! was exclusive to the july "A Box, Indied". The box with five polishes is available at Llarowe as a one month only box or as subscription (50$ per box).

This week's Golden Oldie Thursday theme is Holo.

As base color I chose Gosh Holographic Hero, a silver linear holo. Two coats were enough for opacity.

A Box, Indied - Atop A Ferris Wheel

The next polish of the july "A Box, Indied" is Elevation Polish Atop A Ferris Wheel.

Atop A Ferris Wheel is a lilac colored polish with a subtle iridescent flakie shimmer. I used three thin coats for opactiy.

Then I used Pueen plate SE04B (Encore Collection) and the Essence stamping polish in silver to add a different flower pattern on each nail. One coat of aEngland The Shield finished this mani.

Elevation Polish are available at their own store and at Llarowe. Atop A Ferris Wheel was exclusive to the july "A Box, Indied". The box with five indie polishes is available at Llarowe as a one month only box or as subscription (50$ per box).

A Box, Indied - Deep Fried Everything

It's time for this month's A Box Indied. The first polish I have to show you is Black Cat Lacquer Deep Fried Everything.

Depp Fried Everythink has a milky white jelly base with hexes in various neon colors (blue, green, yellow, pink, orange) and white, plus some silver holographic dots, stars, triangles and shards. Some holographic micro glitter adds extra sparkle. I used two thick coats for this semi-translucent look (plus one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top).

Black Cat Lacquer are available at their own store (US and Canada), at MeiMei's Signatures and at Anjo Beauty. Deep Fried Everything was exclusive to the july "A Box, Indied". The box with five indie polishes is available at Llarowe as a one month only box or as subscription (50$ per box).

For those of you who noticed: yes, this is my cinderella hand. I had a massive nail break/tear on my right middle finger, so my right hand isn't really representable at the moment, but I still wanted to show you this month's A Box Indied. After the five "box posts", I'm going to post some older pictures and hope that my nails grow fast ;-)
